Try their caipirao cocktail. Wow. Absolutely delicious. Had the caipirinha as well and it was fantastic too, but the recipe really works with yummy Portugued liquor Beirao. Also enjoyed fresh omelette and frango a bras. Brilliant prices and great location on the pedestrian square. Would...definitely return at any time of day.More

Always a pleasure to call at the Snack Bar Alagoa. Leonardo and his staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful. The atmosphere is always good and even more so when the local musicians call in for a visit and offer a wonderful rendition of their...excellent music played on a variety of instruments. The Alagoa must be the friendliest and best bar in Tavira. We are never disappointed and it always a pleasure to see Leonardo's happy smiling face. We hope to return to Tavira very soon and pay our regular visits at the Alagoa again. The food is also excellent and well presented. Muito obrigada para todos.More

Came accross this lovely place by accident but I have visited it now at least once a day over the last fortnight. The staff are brilliant and really helpful - especially with my portugese pronunciation. If you get a chance try the house special dish...which is chicken with rice, a real simplistic dish but cooked with love and care, it is also delicious! So if you just want to sit in a lovely square and pass a few hours this certainly is the placeMore

Amusing for a while to be waiting so long for nothing to happen. Sure it was pretty busy but the service was haphazard beyond reason, and not just for us. Items ordered together arrived 20 minutes apart, which is not the worst thing in the...world, but a soggy (and wrong) toastie plus a still-frozen-on-the-inside rissole eventually arriving 45 minutes after being ordered kindov is. Might be an idea to purchase a small notepad and a pencil rather than trying to keep everyone's orders in your head. Still, we managed to get some refreshments and the prices seem reasonable.More

After breakfast at the hotel we were staying in we decided to head out for a small bite to eat early afternoon. We decided to give here a try as we walked past. We both had a cheese and ham toastie which were alright I...thought mine was slightly on the greasy side however this could of easily been from the cheese. Nice little place were we had a group of buskers playing and a lovely view of a nice church.More

A little Gem to be sure. Drinks and snack food on a vibrant square (Old Tavira). Inside and outside seating that attracts many passing by. Cheap and cheerful with locals and visitors. Good atmosphere.

Myself and three friends were staying at a hotel close by and visited here most days for our lunch. We enjoyed the tostas each day for lunch. Reasonable priced and tasty!

Been going to Alagoa for many years, always the same. Good for a beer or cocktail, same goes for coffees. Serves good snacks at reasonable rates, Tosta Mistas super. Nice portion sized Pizzas available.
