good position outside, nice view of street if you face the Roman bridge, and well-shaded in the evening. i had clams, which were delicious, though better eaten with bread I think than the chips provided. everyone else's food (prawns, cuttlefish) looked pretty tasty as well. very hard to attract service though, had to ask three times for bread, and the... Always busy so had to try this place. Pretty run of the mill with the usual fare served in the usual way. Wifes fish was swimming in oil which did not impress and my monkfish in pancetta was better but only O.K. ish. Would not queue to go here I am afraid.

We were tempted to try this restaurant as it is cheap and offers traditional foods such as chicken piri piri. I was most disappointed. The bread was rock hard (I feared for my teeth), the salad accompanying the chicken was dry, and sprinkled with dried herbs... The chicken was OK but frankly I've had better. I can't see why this... We had a fabulous lunch here. I highly recommend the clams with garlic and coriander, they were some of the best clams I have ever had!!! We also had bacalao a braz, a traditional Portuguese dish with salt cod, egg and grated potato. We had had this in a old Portuguese café when we lived in Montreal so we were... More

My wife and I just drove to Tavira on a whim to explore the town. We were not quite sure where to go and stumbled into this nice little restaurant in old Tavira. Yes it is a family restaurant and we were served by the owner's daughter. We had chicken curry and chicken piri-piri and a bottle of wine, 2... More

A group of 8 men dined here and all thouroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. A highlight of our golf trip. Not cheap but then you get what you pay for and we certainly did.

This place hade good service and felt like a family business, we had the beef on a plate and curry chicken. Both were well made!

We ate here on the last day of our holiday and we left feeling we had wasted two hours of our precious day. We sat at an outside table and, although we were given menus fairly promptly, we then had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken. The restaurant states that Chicken Piri-piri is a speciality... More
