The food is amazing but the service is absolutely outstanding! It's clear that this restaurant exists for the pure love of tasty food and interacting with guests, not for the money. Will definitely visit again!
We have been to Akuku in June 2020. Unfortunately we needed to wait about 40 minutes in quite a short queue as the staff seemed to not manage the situation. Eventually we were served with tasty and juicy food which we can recommend - especially...duck breastMore
The menu is small and the beef cheeks and Zander fish (not together) were delicious. The mushroom tempura salad was also a treat. Service was excellent. The place was busy but service did not disappoint. Would definitely eat here again.
Akuku is located in a nice place close to the main square, and the owner has done a great job by making the place look really nice with flowers and colors. We made the mistake by checking the TripAdvisor app and looked at the pictures...instead of the menu before going to Akuku.
We very mesmerized by the pictures of the variety of soups, however when we went there you could only choose chicken soup, which was ordinary in flavor, and a summer cucumber soup served cold, which my other half was not a fan of.
This review is based on what we ate that day, so we still encourage others to try this place. The woman who served us was friendly, and their watchdog is pretty cool.More
Fantastic place, the best in the whole Kazimierz. Were impressed by the food quality, fantasy and service! Quite unusual to randomly catch such a wonderful cook, I wish could eat there every day. My trout was exceptional, we ordered also Tatare that was the best...and the most beautiful served fish I have seen in my life. The sobu pasta with tofu we had was amazing too! Really recommend the place, the dessert was just all right- chocolate cream, I do recommend but it’s nothing outstanding when compared with the dishes...More
We stepped in here for lunch, as it's one of the top choices on TripAdvisor. After reviewing the menu we only took soups of the day, and tartar. White vegetable soup was delicious, carrot one not so much, and my boyfriend said the tartar was...nothing special either. It's a lovely place though, all the decor, friendly staff.. But in my opinion, for such a small city the prices are way too high.More
it was very small. the only good place was by the fireplace, warm and cozy, but there were only 2-3 tables there, usually booked. other tables were found on the upper floor and near the front door on the ground floor with not much warm.
food was...just ok. nothing to remember. think it is over rated for sure.More
I came to Kazimierz just for one night so I had a chance just to try one restaurant. And thanks gods it was Akuku!
I ordered two starters: first oyster mushrooms in tempura served with "Amber cheese" on a salad and then herring. Both were...superb (a little minus for not cutting off the skin from the cheese) and nicely presented. The interior of the restaurant makes you think of a cozy family run place, but the food... well, in my opinion it could just as well fit into a more upscale venue. I loved the choice of crockery too - very stylish. The service was good, the lady serving me super cute although the servers could have talked quieter between each other ;). All in all five stars and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Kazimierz.More
