The cafe is nicely decorated and situated on the corner of the old city square with a beautiful view of the basilica and Pope’s family home. Decent portions at rather low prices although the toasts could have more filling than one small slice of cheese and ham. The coffee was ok, came with a cookie. The famous Pope’s kremówki (napoleon cake) had alcohol added to it for some reason, which didn’t help the taste at all and the dough was a bit rubbery.

While the Square has wonderful restaurants and little cafes, and I had the pleasure to experience all of them, this one was my favourite. From the service to the sheer variety of freshly baked foods, to the delectable Pope Cake, to the ambiance and views of the Square, this is the best place to spend an hour at lunch or late morning after a good stroll around Wadowice.

We came back here after months as previous visit was good and we fancied more cakes! Great coffee, tasty toffee cake and raspberry cake. It was nice to sit outside and chill out with a lovely view of the square and church.

We wanted to have a quick snack and a coffee. We arrived around 12, we were dissapointed by the sandwiches, they were dry and filled with a very little of ham. Pancakes were great. Also coffee didn't taste the best. But it was a bargain, prices are really low here.

Galicjanka is a bakery/restaurant located in the main square of Wadowice, a town located in the south part of Poland and where Pope Johannes Paulus II was born. Here you can taste some cakes and especially the favourite of the Pope Johannes Paulus II, who ate it often. This cake is very good and I recommended you taste it. The bakery is a little place, where there are a lot of people and pitifully it is a bit noisy. We popped in for a quick coffee (which turned out to be very tasty) and and were impressed with the service. As they run out of Kremowki, we decided to order other cakes chosen by staff member and all of them were nice (I would recommend Oreo and Raspberry one). Just before we finished a young waitress approached our table to let us know that they had delivery and Kremowki were back on sale. We couldn't resist and bought a few to take away. Thank you for your help as we really enjoyed them back at home :) Happy New Year!

When you are visiting Wadowice the birthplace of Pope John Paul II and if you want to take a break, then pop into this fancy looking café. We tried the Kremowka and the Zapiekanka. Both these were good. However the Kremowka was a bit bitter and we were discussing what could have caused this and after a bit of discussion we came to the conclusion that they added a way bit too much of vanilla essence which will cause this bitterness. Apart from that everything else was all right. Worth a try if you are in this neighbourhood.

Galicjanka is a symbol of mediocrity. Food is ok but nothing special, coffee small and quite tasteless; bread decent; sandwiches - not worth mentioning, staff transparent while not very nice ... There is no ambiance, no coziness, nothing that would make this place and food something extraordinary or remarkable. I'm in the neighbourhood every day and eat nearby 4 times a week at least, but won't be back anymore.

We have tried Kremowka Papieska there and I would say It was sweet sweet expirience. Latte could be a bit warmer but I like very hot beverages :) They have great view outside the window.
