Very nice atmosphere and staff, but the food was terrible. Completely tasteless. And way too expensive for the quality.

We come here twice. The first day we order two big draft beers, bravcove pecene and bravcove domasni stew with dumplings, for which we pay 21.40 €. Very decent. The next time we eat a baked sausage with bread, 5.90 € and bryndzove halusky, local...dumplings, 8.50 € and Saris beer, 1.80 €. Good local food.More

We have been there twice. It's obviously visited by Slovakians and tourists, too- which is a good sign for being worth a visit. Cuisine is local and there is an english menu. It's helpful, however, to get the "picture menu" to get some idea of...what the food looks like and is like, especially if you are not familiar with eastern european food. The food ist tasty and stuff is helpful. Clearly a recommendation to those interested in local cuisine and traditional interior. Thuumbs up 👍😎More

Great local food, quick service despite the restaurant being busy and well spaced out tables which was perfect during the pandemic!

Average food for high price. The girl who served us did not understand English. Meetballs are overcooked, but baked potatoes is semi-finished.

We came without expectations and left with good feeling. If you are looking for some traditional slovakian food while staying in Tatranska Lomnica. Very nice interior, so you will welcomed by the first minute. We tried "Strapačky" and "Pirohy" and both of them very tasty,...delicious, staff was nice and everything was pleasant, how it should be. If you wanna spend nice dinner somewhere, just try this one!More

Old, bad food. Most probably damplings from nearby supermarket. All 4 of us got stomach issues after eating dinner there. We got garlic soup, dumplings and chicken in potato pancake. Service was fast, but most probably because if was not crouded. Cooked meet was RED,...this is not acceptable, any meat after heat treatment gets gray’ish!!!More

Been there twice during our winter break in Tatranská Lomnica. Very good location, nice atmosphere. The restaurant is lovely decorated and staff was friendly and helpful. They were speaking English, Polish and Slovakian. Food was very good and not too pricey. Tried some local specialties...and loved it. Would recommend and would visit again if we’re in Lomnica.More

We go here every year when in Tatras, sometimes you have to wait for table but we were lucky this time. We had zivanska and pirohy and they were delicious. Service was fast and nice waitress took care of us. By the front door there...is a nice lady who can make you coffee while you’re waiting for free table. Very good idea.More

Service: We waited for a waiter for about 15 min. to come to our table so we could order a food. Waited, waited, waited, waited. The waiters were walking by and saw us waiting for a long time, but no one came. We felt ignored....It was not busy at that time. My patience was running out so I asked a waiter if we can order. Response "In a minute!". After 2 min. a waiter finally came to our table so we could order a food. There was no apologies for waiting such a long time. Food: Blend! The food looked good, but the taste was blend. No taste what's so ever. I think the cook does not use any salt/pepper or other spices to enhance the taste. It was blend almost like a paper. The only positive thing was the antique atmosphere. I would not recommend this restaurant, we were disappointed. Sorry for this type of review, but this is the fact.More

After chilling cable car rides up to Lomnicky Spit, our tour group of 22 was set loose to have lunch on our own in town. My spouse and I, and several others chose, Stara Mama--"Old Granny" Restaurant, which our tour leader said offered traditional Slovak...country food. The rustic interior was cozy and warm, with snug, cushioned booths. Bowls of hot, steaming soup appealed to my spouse and me. I ordered the bean soup with smoked meat priced at 4.90 Euros. It arrived filled with dark brown fava beans, which surprised me as I was expecting regular "soup" beans. My husband had been eager to sample cabbage soup with sausage at 4.10 Euros. I enjoyed my soup. However, my husband was disappointed with his selection since it was basically Sauerkraut soup, not a cabbage soup. Although he was glad he had finally tried it, he vowed never to order this soup again! I would have to rate our meal as Average. It was okay, but not remarkable. However, it was definitely and authentic food experience not to be missed!More
