When you visit Sõrve säär lighthouse (it is a must in Saaremaa) take the smaller western shore way back to Kuressaare or Kihelkonna. Make a stop at Ohessaare windmill and summer cafe. It is a lovely romantic place where you can feel the real seaside...atmosphere. In summertime you can also stay overnight in a romantic room in the windmill (need to book in before). You can also buy handmade ceramics in the cafe.More
This is the ultimate 'hidden gem', perfectly set on a remote part of the island of Saarremaa. When the summer weather is good there is nowhere more charming on this unspoiled island. There is unique accomodation in the old windmill for those who wish to...stay over. In the sea we saw grass snakes in pursuit of fish - a unique sight in Europe. Lovely coffee too.More
By the wooden windmill you can find a small cosy cafe with not much choice, but the cheese bun and lemonade was definetly worth a stop for a snack. You have a view of the sea, so a good place to stretch after a long...drive.More
