The culturally musical bar and restaurant Trompete (‘trumpet’ in Latvian) was conceived with an aim to offer fresh, delicious food with ingredients sourced from selected locally produced and imported products combined with the pleasing sounds of jazz music, acclaimed wines and select whiskies and rums. The restaurant is located in the heart of the Old Town, next to the ancient Salt Carriers’ Guild. The historical aura at Trompete has been preserved, combined with modern minimalism and a warm, relaxed, yet refined atmosphere. Pendant lamps, wooden tables and exposed historic walls allow everyone to enjoy the fusion of gastronomy and music.

The food, the beer, the cider.. the choice. Love it all. Me and my friends are a frequent patrons of this fine establishment. Local beer and local ciders with seasonal brewers tastes. Live music shows with some great music. Professional staff. Highly recommend. Cheers, Oskars

Great jazz bar with a large selection of beers on tap. The jazz band playing was superb and even if you weren’t in the room with the band, you could still hear the music through speakers. There was no fee to hear the band. This...More

When we got in, there were a lot of other people just arriving as well, so there was a bit of a wait, but the staff was very apologetic and professional about it. The food itself was really good, we had a starter of shared...More

Five stars for the atmosphere, live jazz, beer selection, cozy interiors, service and value for the money. Four stars for the food; not gourmet stuff but definitely a good match for the setting. For weekends, you should book a table in advance.

Popped in here as we couldn’t get a table over the road but was happy to have found it. Food and drinks very reasonably priced and with a live jazz band on as a backdrop. For dinner for 3 we paid about €40 euros which...More

We came for dinner here. Whilst the ambiance is nice, the food was nothing to write home about. My husband had calamari.. he said it was like rubber, under cooked and he sent back.
