The culturally musical bar and restaurant Trompete (‘trumpet’ in Latvian) was conceived with an aim to offer fresh, delicious food with ingredients sourced from selected locally produced and imported products combined with the pleasing sounds of jazz music, acclaimed wines and select whiskies and rums. The restaurant is located in the heart of the Old Town, next to the ancient Salt Carriers’ Guild. The historical aura at Trompete has been preserved, combined with modern minimalism and a warm, relaxed, yet refined atmosphere. Pendant lamps, wooden tables and exposed historic walls allow everyone to enjoy the fusion of gastronomy and music.

So sorry for the bad food.
We will take your comment in consideration and work on this not happening again.
We visited this bar several times, for a drink, for a lunchtime snack and an evening meal. The atmosphere was very warm. The food was delicious. Great music. Enjoyed spending time here. A place to visit
Probably feel they don’t have to try to hard given the musical entertainment. We waited nearly an hour for our starter which was a simple “build-by-numbers” cheese platter. Another long wait before a heavy beef kofta and a very acceptable mushroom penne. Not over impressed.
Found this idyllic Jazz club near our hotel, aperitives, shared dip plate, shared ribs, wine, desserts, all Together 62 euros. Especially desserts were marvellous everything good and worth the Money. Live music during evening. Friendly stuff.
A lovely simple bar where we were warmly welcomed. First night, we had the weekend deal which was a lovely pulled pork burger in a home made bun with potato wedges, also home made and a beer, brewed by the owner! it was lovely all...More
