Having a wonderful few days in Riga, until we eat at Lido in the old town. Our walking tour guide recommended, I am sure in good faith. The restaurant does not close until 9.00pm and we arrive at 8.00pm by which time the food is...luke warm and the beef is overcooked, dry and generally awful. For the price this is just about tolerable if it were not for the attitude of the people working there. The guy serving is unhelpful and then there is a server who narrowly misses me with a trolley and then hits me with trays whilst passing the table., there is sufficient room to avoid me. As we are leaving I mention this which results in laughter with aforementioned guy serving and more attitude. Avoid this place.More

Thought to give this a try considering the good reviews, however, got really bad service. We wanted to try some traditional Latvian food so ordered one of each item. It was only when we started eating did we notice that we were charged twice for...an item. We raised that with the staff and the staff kept saying that we had ordered two of that item. It's basically open from breakfast to dinner, you can have a full meal for less that 10 euros and taste what the local love and eat. clean, nice and it easy to try new things. Only down point the beer isn't that great but it's...still ok. If you are a budget minded Traveler this is the place to go. Adults and children can find all sorts of food.More

Great selection of affordable food in the old town, however a very confusing system for someone who isn’t local. One member of staff in particular ( I think his name was Alexis) was so rude that this has really left a bad mark on the...whole experience. If you wish to have a quick lunch in a nice setting, but still something local and tasty at the center of the old town, that is the place. It is kind of self-serivce cafeteria, but the food is good and well prepared and the...prices are excellent. Highly recommended.More

Quick, easy lunch home cooked (over cooked) food not really my taste so I settled on soup. Some English spoken since I was confused on entering how to proceed. Dining can take so long so this fit into our schedule. Fun patio seating on a...busy square for people watching and looking at architecture.More

We came across this buffet restaurant and the look inside made us decide to sit down on the terrace and have dinner here because of the vast choices of food. One of u had the beef burger, potatoes, vegetables and a big pint of cider,...very good at 12.50€. The other the chicken filet, mashed potatoes and vegetables in a curry sauce, no drink, 7.90€. All good size portions and very tasty. As a desert strawberries with cream. We will come again.More

Went twice, first time was a 4/5 but second time the food was much worse. First time, had the pork schnitzel, pork kebab and a cheese and ham pancake. All were nice enough for the price Second time, had pork schnitzel again, and also chicken...fillet. Chicken was undercooked and therefore inedible, schnitzel was undercooked so the batter was soggy. You grab the tray, tell them what you want (veggie rice, meats - anything from salmon to chicken and pork), pick a salad and a desert, add a pint and it cost you around a tenner per person. It was my second visit in this pub restaurant after my first one in 2000. I expected to have a delicious steak like before, but no -they offered just the same shasliks and schnitzels which are available in every Lido. Also, probably because of the...current situation the atmosphere wasn't too high without enough customers. It's a pity they made this just a usual Lido, with raised prices.More

Buffet style restaurant where you choose the food displayed and pay by weight. Located in the main centre, cheap prices and tasty Latvian food. A very good option, even for locals!

Serve your self with a tray, like a school canteen and the food mirrored this too. However it was efficient, clean and the food was tasty but not very hot. It did the job on a first night when we didn’t have our bearings!
