The Restaurant does not have many tables, so If you want to go there, book in advance, But if you want some really good local food in a nice and comforting setting, Restaurants in Riga close pretty early, and finding one after 9 PM or 10 PM after some of the great Musical events, can be a challenge, We arrived... Really, really nice traditional food, I highly recommend the dumplings. Serving staff were great and the decor was lovely. We enjoyed the restaurant so much we visited again a couple of days later!

This restaurant had been here for 140 years or so I'm led to believe by the waiter. Great atmosphere good service. The wine is a bit pricey but hey ho.

We wanted something to eat which was authentic Latvian. I had never heard of any of the dishes. We ate black peas with smoked bacon, Herring with potatoes, and roasted Ham hock. All good. The ham hock could have boon more crispy and juicy but over all a great meal. Congenial service, very attentive and expedient.

Charming traditional Latvian restaurant. Good selection of different traditional dishes, even an interesting tasting menu (we did not try it though). Kind and efficient service and good cooking. Fair prices and very centrally located. Very recommendable!

A nice place for some typical baltic food. We had soup and dumplings. Rustic and tasty food. Soup was €5 and dumplings €7.

In a gloomy november evening we entered by chance in this restaurant and definitely enjoyed it. We tried only traditional foods and drinks and we were extremely satisfied. Locals were eating there that was a pretty good indication that the food was it was supposed to be. The waiter was very helpful with our food choices. Try the soups that... More

In every new city I visit a restaurant with national cuisine because cuisine gives a full impression of the country's peculiarities. I chose 'Province' to have a taste of Riga. The restaurant met my expectations in terms of interior: it looks like a Latvian village house, warm and cozy. The dining hall is quite small but, during my visit, it... More

Stopped off whilst walking old town for lunch. Lots of Latvian food on offer. We had 2 bowls of different soup, dumplings (read perogi's), some chips and wine all for 30 euros. Very acceptable.

Thank David B
