My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and will definitely be coming back! The food was delicious and there were so many options to choose from. I recommend trying the dried rye bread and pelmeni dumplings. Most employees also speak English, Russian, and Latvian, so it's easy to communicate with waiters. I think it's worth trying it out!!

The place is on the town hall square and we were there in the early evening during an open air concert We enjoyed the four course tasting menu which consisted of a herring, caper and potato starter, grey peas and bacon, sticky ribs with pickled cabbage and Latvian bread pudding. The wheat beer was also good and the price very reasonable. We were also treated to a shot of black balsam liqueur which is not for the faint hearted! Would definitely re-visit if we ever visited Riga again

Nice location on the town hall square. We chose a tasting menu to get a better impression of traditional Latvian cuisine, which was unfortunately not much to boast of but some good tastes were there. Otherwise, the price was expensive.
We had tasted the balsam earlier and asked to drop this or get something else instead but it was not possible and further we were asked why we did not drink it after it had been served.

The beef stroganoff consisted of some stringy bits of stewing beef with lots of mashed potato, very bland. Other dishes we had were OK but no more than that. Prices quite high.
The one and only waiter did a terrific job looking after a large number of tables.

We had salmon fillet with fried potatoes, grater cake with salmon and beef stroganoff. The hearty food was ok.
Province and Salsa are sister restaurants in close proximity with identical menu. We stayed at 5-6 restaurants in the Old Town of Riga. We liked "O'Paps" & "Big Bad Bagels" better.

Delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere. The toilets are too small and the service although adequate, is improveable.The waitress who attended us was very impatient to remove the dishes... Booked here as part of the group tour so quite a large party. This may be why we were so disappointed with what we got. The food was average at best; salad starter consisted of lettuce and lettuce and lettuce with a nice dressing; our beef stroganoff was chewy and tough with little flavour; dessert was not quite what we're expecting but ok. We couldn't order a bottle of wine, only a glass, so where was it coming from?

I LOVED this restaurant. My fam and I went here for dinner and the service was amazing. The workers were so nice and we got our food fast. The quality of the food was amazing and there was a really large variety of foods as well! I definitely recommend coming here.

Been for a dinner on Friday. Good service and really good local food, try the black sausage was delicious, rest of food was tasty and good too. Few but, only when you take seat noticed about 10% service charge and we wait a little bit too long and restaurant was not full. Not economic but reasonable price.

Totally agree with Andak: one star too many!
We were recommended to this place by our guide. I made a reservation enquiry via their website and we arrived on time. The place was busy - but as we walked in the woman at the entrance shouted ‘the restaurant is closed - unless you are in a group: are you?’ I said I had made a reservation enquiry : she accused me of lying: she said it must have been for another restaurant and ‘we do not reservations’.
There was no sign to say ‘groups only’: she could have said that nicely and we would have accepted it. She could not have been more rude if she had tried! STAY AWAY!

Well what can I say?? Just perfect experience, maybe it wasn’t crowded, but all the dishes we ordered tasted wonderful, service was perfect. Fish trio, cabbage soup and pork knuckle, yummm.
Let me tell you this, if you want to try authentic and beautifully presented latvian traditional food this is place for you.
