This was a good decision to make, to stop here for dinner. A very charming and funny waitor and really good and tasty food. The prices are absolutely ok and If you like beer and chocolate you will have to try the chocolate fondant for dessert and the dark beer to the main course. I luften with a smile. 😉😊

Came here for lunch with my family. It is a good place to try local food. the place was not very busy and as it was a sunny day we sat outside on the terrace. The food was great - everything tasted as it should and the value in my opinion was good also. The food service was a bit... More

We had booked a table many days in advance and when we arrived we were guided to a gloomy table far back in the corner and the table was no even set (all the others were). The explanation was arrival of 2 big groups...Got a bad feeling and decided to go somewhere else. Were very disappointed since we were really... More

The resteurant offers excellent traditional latvian food in the very centre of the city, next to the tourist information office and The House of Blackheads. The interiors are very well furnished and it also have an external terrace just on the main square of the city.

Good meal and chance to try local Latvian cuisine. Food was good, ambience lively (we had a large group at the next table) and service was prompt. I had the blood sausage and barley porridge - which was OK, the other two mains were better. Star of the show was a rhubarb mousse, served in a Kilner Jar!

They are located on the central square next to Blackhead house. They serve kind of "tapas": 7 local dishes at small portions. One such serving is enough for 2 persons to get very good impression about Latvian cuisine. The service is professional. The prices are reasonable in despite the location is just perfect.

We were looking to try the local food, and this was a home-run. The food tasted great. I had the sourkraut soup in a bread bowl as an appetizer (it listed as a full meal), and the home-made sausage as the main dish. The soup was delicious, and while the sausage was slightly dry, the taste combinations of the plate... More

Wanted to try some traditional Latvian food and ended up in Salve because it had good reviews from other people. Quality-price-ratio was very good, food was amazing and tasted home made + service was quick and very friendly :) seriously recommend their potato pancakes with salted salmon and sourcream, they were the best part of our meal!

Food tasted like frozen and then defrosted, made in microwave. I doubt that this represents Latvian food.

On our last day in Riga we stopped here for a late lunch. Had several of our favorite dishes. The Latvian Beef Stroganoff and the Pelmeni soup was outstanding. Beer was also very good.

"Salve" - a restaurant that represents Riga city cuisine
There's no better way to express the uniqueness of the people, its habits and tastes than through national cuisine. Restaurant Salve offers a taste of traditional Latvian cuisine in an elegant city manner. Restaurant Salve, which is located in the historic Blue Guard House which is part of the complex of the House of Blackheads on the Town Hall Square - the heart of Old Riga - is the right place to look for exquisite cuisine and enjoy the specialties of the capital.
We offer to appraise the elegant and at the same time cozy atmosphere of the restaurant with a fine Dutch style interior to all citizens of Riga and its guests. Internationally trained chefs and waiters guarantee exquisite food flavor and high service standards.
In Latin, "Salve" means - "Welcome!" Which excellently reflects the essence of the restaurant, as each guest is gladly welcome there.
