I reccomend this place for good food at a reasonable price in an interesting setting. You won't be in this part of town unless you are looking for something a bit off the tourist track, I would say it's worth the 10-15 min walk from the Art Nouveu district. It is a gallery above a shop so you are looking... More

I love this place. No written menus just a choice of meat or fish and the set side dishes and appetisers. We love it.

Cold indifferent service, the norm in Latvia, but the food was good. The cold "pink" soup was refreshing and the main dish was tasty and very filling. Pity their personalities suck so bad.

I had tasty shrimp, lots of salad, and veggies Husband reports turkey was just ok Waitress was surly and hilarious. One example: I say "I can't eat milk, cream, cheese, any dairy". She says "why didn't you just tell me you are lactose intolerant?" Casually elegant Hip setting over a funky store. Husband says only rates a 3.

We found this place by collecting a Riga map made by locals which was so helpful. Gorgeous little upstairs restaurant with only 6 tables for about 25 people. There was no menu (just as the map advised) just a choice of meats...everything else was provided. There were two fish choices and three of turkey, lamb and beef on our night.... More

Warning: in case you have any food allergies or dietary requirements, do not go there! They will simply ignore it and be dishonest with you, saying that whatever you cannot eat is not in the food, but it will be everywhere. They won’t bother making anything individually for you (everything is premade which is not a sign of a good... More

This little place is very cozy and they always have great food. You can pick fish or meet and they bring you salads and sides aling with it. Perfect fit whether you are on a date or with family. Its actually owned by one of Latvias greatest chefs - Sirmais and they have a gallery of Latvian art goods on... More

We went to Istaba upon recommendation by a local. The location itself is definitely very cool and fancy. Most creative and cozy interior design. There is no set menu - so you can only choose between meat, seafood and vegetarian. For our standing preferences we chose the latter, which was not really creative, but solid in quality. We had been... More
