While the food here is wonderful the service is very slow. What I love about the food is that they have very traditional Latvian dishes. On our first visit in 2022 we ate lunch inside, and it took a long time to get our food...and then the check. Inside they had toys for kids to play with. We ate inside because the tables outside were all taken. This time we sat outside. The atmosphere outside is much more pleasant. Unfortunately the outdoor space is limited, as some of the spots provide no protection from sun or rain. Upon arriving, we went inside and asked if the would serve us outside. They said yes, and a young lady took us back outside with menus. We waited what seemed like forever for her to come back, when we ordered draft Latvian beers, and the garlic bread toasts (a traditional beer snack of dark bread toasted with garlic and a tiny bit of cheese). Then we waited another eternity for the beer and garlic toasts. They finally came and the garlic toasts were amazing- with a wonderful sauce- we couldn’t finish them and took them home). Then we were able to order and I don’t recall how long the wait was but it wasn’t so bad since we now had beer and a snack. My husband had the “kotletes” (meatballs in English) and they were true Latvian style with mashed potatoes and a wonderful gravy. I had chicken skewers with vegetables. The chicken was amazingly moist and flavorful. Then it took forever to get the check. We were too full for dessert but somebody next to us had an amazing looking Pavlova. They also have baked goods at the front counter. I will definitely go back for some of the baked goods. We will probably go back for the food, but only when we have time and patience!More

We took tea/coffee and sweet pastry. It was leaf tea - no tea bags 👍 coffee was also good. Pastry fresh and tasty, you could taste that they were home made 😊 I would recommend this cafe to improve their interior by making inside and...outside interior similar. And there was no Wc paper in the toilet 😉More

Located a bit off the main tourist area this place offered a great lunch with very reasonable pricing. Two dish lunch was tasty, well prepared and fast served pricing only 8,5 € per person. For beer food foodies they have a variety of drafts to...explore.More

Found this place after exploring the Art Nouveau quarter in Riga. Lovely terrace area at the side of the building to sit outside for lunch. There was a limited 'lunch' menu at very reasonable prices although a fuller menu was also available. Only one vegetarian...dish on the 'lunch' menu, but it was very good. Seemed to be aimed at a younger, hipper, market than me and my hubby, but we were just there for the food.More

What a fabulous find! The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. Ordered menu of the day -superb meaty cold soup (meal in itself) followed by vegetable curried rice and salad, all for 8.5 euros. Pulled pork wrap also delicious. Huge array of...fresh pastries available. Such a great place. If you're visiting the Art Nouveau Quarter, make time to visit this eaterie!More

Relaxed and warm! This cafe proved a perfect recommendation from the art nouveau shopkeeper where I could warm up with a bowl of lovely soup in Relaxed surroundings. Ideally located near the glorious art nouveau streets ans in the basement of a charming wooden house.

Was a good meal (mayonese maybe shoud be custom made, not from the shop (spilva)). But the service was awfull: dirty tables, self-service, complete ignore from waitress. And not only me, saw same atttude to other guests.

The food is mediocre at best if You can ignore the low quality of ingredients. I seriously suggest You do not try the food. Maybe if it is free but still do at Your own peril.

Great building and location in the Art Nouveau area, however customer service was very poor and the cakes were very dry.

Very cozy atmosphere in big terrace with lights, candles, blankets, heaters, drinks, delicious cakes and food for all tastes! There is also a bar with TV, novuss table, concerts at evening so it really feels great to be there! And btw you can also sit...inside if you a covid certificate. I will visit again when i’m in Riga!More

if posh-y eateries of the art nouveau quarter are not to your liking it is worth getting to the edge of the quarter to lunch at Buberts. Friendly staff, not overcrowded, with ample seating outside. Enjoyable)

Recent transplant from New York to Riga and Buberts happens to be in my new neighborhood so we tried it out and were quite happy we did. We've had dinner and lunch here and both were excellent. Lunch is a great value at 5.50 EUR...which comes with soup and entree. Selection is very limited but you can get advanced notice on the items if you follow them on Instagram. Details are in Latvian so having a translator will help. Dinner has more options with nice sized portions. Both tasted very good and very fulfilling. It's not a fancy place but it is nicely designed and feels very comfortable. Kind of reminds me of places in Brooklyn, which is probably ironic since the Brooklyn places are probably striving to be like Buberts!More

The place had a really nice atmosphere and some good craft beer! The food wasn’t anything too special but wasn’t bad either. Would recommend sitting outside and grabbing a cold drink on a warm day!

Staff were very friendly and translated the menus for us. Lunch menu is amazing value. Wee bit more expensive in the evening but still lovely. Have been twice already as really handy for where we are staying.
