We had ordered in advance, a table at the window if possible and I came early to make sure. Right on the dot my friend showed and he ordered a beer, which allowed me to order what I wanted - a good wine for the...meat: Beef. Semi-well-done. It's my favourite dish with them, we discussed the other beef-dish, but went for the the classic, and my being a client since Sept 1994 this was the optimal choice - though, I must add that any dish they serve is my choice. Set up by the original owner of which i long am a fan, Mr Zagars, you know everything is quality. The choice of red wine was a Zinfandel, a red, but am unsure if it was the Californian version, or its Italian sister the Primitivo. More important is its taste which had to be rich, powerful and elegant, still, to stand up against, and well-match the shalots which sweeten when being prepared and the jam sauce it traditionally would be and it held out well! Beyond my expectations as many wines turn out quite bland these days. If any comment on the dish itself, the flavour was a little too marked by the ''etikis'' and I would suggest you hold this down, a pinch! Other - we had a great waiter and also a very understanding one and I and we appreciate his little gesture towards us. The reason, I will always make this my place of call'!:) Thank you, Staff of The Osiriss!More
