Based on earlier recommendations on Tripadvisor we headed to this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised, even though it was a quiet Monday night. We took their August menu which included three courses for 15 Euro per person. The restaurant has a downstairs section (which would normally be lively), and a more elegant upstairs section. The prices are the same. I... More

We liked the look of this restaurant and the food did not disappoint. We ate on the terrace, which was very pleasant on a warm summer afternoon. The service was friendly. The price was good too. I would recommend the place.

We didn't quite expect the level of service and fine dining because we looked at the menu posted outside the restaurant and thought it was very... More

The legendary Volga Restaurant is situated in the old town of Tartu, in a Classicist building constructed in 1783. The interior design of the restaurant rooms restored in 2007 follows the Art Deco style of the 1920s and 30s, when the place was a favourite café of high society. The room is embellished with bright decorations restored by artist Aren on the basis of old photographs, and a beautiful vitrage ceiling is high above the dance floor. The à la carte menu of Volga, called “From Athena to Volga”, is in harmony with the service and atmosphere and offers a memorable experience for each visitor. The rooms located on two levels can house up to 130 visitors.
