Food is great, service not so great

I visited Tartu few weeks ago and I think I ate at Kolm Tilli almos every day - had breakfast, lunch and even dinner with my colleagues there. The food is just enjoyable, nothing bad to say about it. But the service is not so good. Every time I visited, there was a problem - first time no one brought the menu, second time the waiter forgot my cappucino and instead of regular juice brought fresh juice (which is twice as expensive), third time they again forgot us. When I was there with my colleagues, we had a lovely young man waitering us - he was very friendly, but again forgot some things and was not the fastest, which I do not mind. When I come to Tartu, of course I will visit you again, because I understand that there is a labor shortage and still the food is excellent. :)

Not recommended during peak hours

You can park in the parking lot on the street for 2 hours free of charge with a parking clock. We went to eat the brunch menu half an hour before it ended. The bar seemed to be completely jammed as we had to wait 38 minutes for our drinks. We waited 40 minutes for our food, which is understandable in a situation where a lot of people can come to brunch at the last minute. But the bar should deliver faster, because waiting 38 minutes for coffee, mimosa and kvass is really too much. Whereas 33 minutes after ordering, they only came to say, sorry, we don't have any kvass. Otherwise, the atmosphere of the place is nice and the food was also quite okay. Brunch prices were also okay.

Delicious food

We went there on Wednesday evening, place was full. Initially we sat outside, but because it was cold, we asked if we could have a table inside and after some time, they gave us a table inside. Very comfortable. Service was very good, very friendly staff. Drinks came quickly. Because the house was full, the food took a while, but the waitress told us that. We ordered fish bao, fish and chips and pasta. Everything was delicious.. just yum! Fish and chips taste really-really good and crispy. Definitely a place to go!

Broad selection of good food😋

Secreted in an old Soviet complex, accessible through a tunnel into which you would not venture by chance.. sits this restaurant, next door to Aparat, a gem of an eatery. Fare superior to that on offer in Tartu centre. We had Thai soups & Pad Thai Noodles, both good. Kolm Toli was also serving mountains of pizzas to a roaring takeaway trade.. that many takers can't be wrong!

Nice venue, absolutely terrible service and overpriced street food.

Where to begin? What an absolute joke. Soon after being seated and having ordered, we were completely ignored by wait staff. As a matter of fact, we were served one beer 15 minutes after placing our order. Over an hour had passed when finally someone came to the table to point out that we had not been served any food yet, as if we didn't know. After "checking" with the kitchen, we were so enthusiastically informed that we had to wait a little more for starters (nachos....they come from a bag) and 20 more minutes to get any proper food. Mind you, this place serves overpriced streetfood, is waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes for fastfood reasonable? Great way to fast on your birthday!

Terrible and bad service

The food I ordered was Mac and cheese with shrimps but the dish they served was wrong and I had to wait again for new dish. We got the food at different times. Main course was not so delicious, little bit disappointed for it. Service was not good at all!

Lovely venue. Slow service- bad/average food at best

We had made a booking for a family of 6+ with one baby. The service was slow from the beginning. The waitress was lovely and took our order for drinks & food. The drinks took a good 15min to arrive, and the food took more than an hour. I ordered grilled corn for our 6yo and 1yo and told the waitress not to overdo the seasoning; just a bit of salt and butter would be perfect; I made it clear that it's for the little ones. And for myself, I asked for salad and have parsley and coriander excluded. First of all, all of us waited more than an hour. Kids included. The waitress came over and explained that the salad dressing include parsley and could not be removed. I said, OK, just put it on the side. My salad arrived: shrimp w seaweed and spinach - garnished w mayo! As I finished my salad 15 min later, the “side dressing” was served!! Hehe, at no point did the waitress tell me that the dressing was coming later ( not that I particularly wanted it, but still). Another 10min later, everyone else food started to arrive. Corn was not editable - it was so salty that no adults wanted it. Ribs were below average. Bao was way too spicy ( without having eng info about this on the menu). All in all, it seems to be an utterly overrated place. But slow service is a killer there. Would not go there again for food. Drinks - only if I would have plenty of time:) Ty

A very busy , trendy hangout

A serious hipster warning , in a positive sense . A very trendy and busy restaurant , which serves excellent pizzas and Asian inspired dishes . My gado gado was a generous portion of fresh ingredient , it looked great and tasted good . The only negative thing was that the portion had too much peanut sauce . My partner had a tasty pad Thai with a good kick of chili . Service was polite and efficient and prices reasonable . They also have a good selection of vegetarian and some vegan dishes .

English breakfast was nice and tasty but not an English breakfast really

Food was great and so was the service. However. No idea why so many places outside of UK offer English breakfast, while adding enough of a twist on it, that it's not really an English breakfast. Just call it "insertcafename breakfast". The Kolm Tilli version replaces bacon with a salad. No idea why. If you want a healthier option, there are other choices. Why change the dish? Also the beans were spicier than your regular baked beans in tomato sauce. The menu warns about that, if you can't handle spice at all. And for some unknown reason the beans came in a cast iron skillet... on a plate. Along with a steak knife. That's just unnecessary. Trying too hard to be hip or fancy. The only things I had to cut really was the smallish sausage and slice of bread and I could've easily done it with the cutlery that was already provided on the table. You could cut down the costs of washing up, and making it easier and quicker to serve, by taking the skillet and extra knife out of the equation. Beans were also lukewarm on arrival and I think the skillet helped to cool them down quicker, because it was just a prop and not used to heat up the beans. Also weird that the "sourdough" wasn't translated and kept as "sourdough" even in Estonian version of the menu. Guess is that it also sounds more fancy than "haputaigen". I'd suggest to try remain authentic, concentrate on providing good food and service, there's no need for this superficial nonsense. But that's probably the fault of either a shallow manager or owner and their "vision".

Unbelievably terrible service!

We went there for lunch as a family of five, and waited for more than half an hour after placing the order despite the restaurant wasn't really full, and still didn't get our food at the end. Meanwhile, the waitress took away our knives without saying anything. Finally, my husband went to ask for our food, but found out that the waitress who took our order didn't place it to the kitchen. How could someone forget our order, but remembered to come to our table to remove the knives (which I felt quite rude as everyone else had both fork and knife for their food, and we ordered salad and pizza)?

This is absurd

This was horrible. Waited for 40 minutes to receive nothing. Left without getting anything that we ordered because after the 40 minutes wait the answer still was that there will be another 20 minutes until the food is done. Everything you make is street food as you call it and for it to take so long is absurd. After all this waiting still had to pay for the one drink that we had.

Great place

We really liked the place - starting with interior and ending with food. We ate pizzas which were baked in an open kitchen so we were able to see whole process. Also metal straws were a nice touch!

I ordered classic Mojito, Meat Lover Pasta & the Bounty. This is for sure the best place in the town. The prices are really great for the food and also the drinks. Food protions were amazing. About the taste..it was THE BEST. The Meat Lover Pasta was well balanced, portioms was wonderful and the look was stunning. The desert Bounty was truly the best thing I have ever had. Balance between sweet, salty, sour was truly wonderful. The Mojito, the taste is stunning! I enyoed every minute & every bite. About the place itself, it’s just such a vibe! Turly unforgettable experience. I absolutley loved the stay and for sure I will visit it again. Thank you for such a wonderful dinner! Almost forgot, the staff is so welcoming and nice, every moment ordering something was so enjoyable and remarkable.

Kolm Tilli has so many choices for breakfast, also for vegetarians and vegans. Food was good and presented in nice way. Atmosphere is trendy and cosy. Service was so friendly, we did leave with very good feeling. Thank you!

Surprisingly good brunch

I had few times a lunch there - good menu but pretty busy. We decided to have there a brunch with our friends. Very good menu and all we had was tasty. When we left, it was almost full. Many families with kids came as kids could run around in the courtyard.
