Located in oldtown in some old building with fireplace gives a nice cozy feeling. The taste of food here was so subtle with great and friendly staff. Being vegetarian and picky we ordered aglio olio , Pasta and Pizza for my son and food was...really good definitely worth visiting again! Booking a table is recommended as its crowded here.More

An Italian restaurant in the old town of Tallinn. It is in an old building and the atmosphere is cozy, They have a nice simple fireplace and it’s nice to sit beside that, at least during the wintertime. The food is excellent and the service...is polite. I just like this restaurant!More

Controvento never fails! We got a table for lunch without reservation and were able to enjoy our lunch in this beautiful atmosphere! Combining few starters and mussels created a delicious lunch for us.

I liked the restaurant and would have liked to have a birthday dinner there with 10 of my friends. we asked if this was possible, and if any kind of group menu would work. for the main course we wanted lasagna. I also asked if...it would be possible to organize any kind of menu for €20 per person for the food, and that we would order the wines and other drinks on the spot, so that everyone could order what they wanted and we would handle the drinks with separate cheks. The restaurant replied that they do not serve pasta to a larger group, and do not write separate cheks. So we were not accepted as customers. If the reason had been stated to be perhaps the fear of the possible volume that a larger group can hold, I would have understood, but that an Italian restaurant whose menu is mostly pasta, pizza and risotto, does not serve pasta to eleven customers, and cannot write more than one check, I cannot understand that ! It's a shame, I liked the restaurant, but now will not be visiting there any more. But maybe it's positive that the restaurant is doing so well that it can choose its customers 🙂More

On a Monday afternoon me and my wife were practically the only clients, so it didn´t take TOO long for our pizzas to arrive... Well anyway they were very tasty (Toscana and Liguria), and the service was nice. Great grappa for "dessert". The menu is...pretty extensive, so maybe next time a risotto, seafood or meat...More

We visited Cotrovento with my family in July. We booked a table in advance, which was good because the restaurant was full eventhough it was a thuesday night. Starters were good but we had to wait our main cources a very long time. Main cources...were a bit disappointment, tasteles and plain. This is quite expencive restaurant and not as good as most reviews are.More

We liked the vegetarian options on the menu st Controvento, but at first attempt they were fully booked. We were able to make a reservation for the next evening and came back. Our visit started with a very very long wait at the table, with...menus and water. We began to wonder if they forgot us…. Although there were not many tables and we were right in the center. My kids were losing their minds with hunger so it was a bit of a moment wondering if this was a bad sign. Finally our server arrived and after that everything was fairly smooth. We had Fresh bread, Burrata, Spaghetti Limone, Chanterelle Risotto and Beet Risotto and Caccio Pepe Penne. Pana cotta for dessert. All cooked well, with good flavors. Would be 5 stars if we felt a bit more attended to from the start.More

Great location and carpaccio was delicious. Glass of wine was quite expensive. Overall I would recommend this place!!
