We hardly found the place, but very glad that we did. The street level window gives an impression of not very inviting place, but there was a very cosy and nice restaurant on the lower floor. The two dishes we had as main courses (cauliflower...soup and duck) were excellent and the price was very reasonable. Desserts were really enjoyable, as well. We had made a booking through Tableonline for Friday evening in December. Went there right on time and were looking forward to be seated and enjoying a nice dinner in a place we had not been before. Once we got to the restaurant, we waited...a moment and then a male waiter (looking very busy) came and said in an angry tone that they have a queue of 1-2 hours. We told we have a reservation and I showed my confirmation. He started yelling and rolling his eyes "there are many people coming here saying they have reservation - there is no space. Go and look around yourselves, we are full. If you manage to find a table go ahead and sit". Of course we left, and our mood changed from happy after having a nice day to disappointment. We decided to go to one of our favorite places (RK16, those who know, know) which is usually fully booked. Went there, explained the situation and they were kind and accommodating and managed to get a table for us and we ended up having a great dinner. Trofé - never again and be aware that even if you book, the restaurant may not have a table for you.More

We had reserved a table which seemed a good idea since they kept turning walk-in customers back. Although the restaurant was half empty the staff was overwhelmed and service was of obligatory nature, not welcoming. The food had good ingredients but the chef should check...the portion sizes. The starters were the best part, five star. We had pelmeni and cauliflower soup. The portions were (too) large, well made and well seasoned. The main courses lacked salt and flavor and tasted only average. The dessert, carrot cake, was a disappointment. The portion was huge! Also the cake had exact same greasy fried carrot chips garnish I had with the main course so it felt I was still eating main course.More

Food good 4/5, service good 4/5, venue really nice 4/5. Duck was excellent and the cook on it perfect. Bore was good but the whole dish a bit too sweat and lacked freshness. Waitress really lovely.

Nicely umbrellaed patio! We wanted to enjoy lunch outside and our waiter gamely trotted up and down the cellar stairs to serve us, even though it would have been easier on him if we'd dined downstairs. I ordered the Scandinavian fish soup and the bread/dip...appetizer and both were terrific.More

What a lovely find on our first day in Tallin. We had popped in somewhere else that was absolutely chaotic, so we had coffee and headed off for dinner elsewhere. This is where we found this lovely basement restaurant. Staff were pleasant, we felt welcomed,...the food was good, and the price point fair. The food was delicious (stewed wild boar and chicken fillet) and the service excellent. As it was summer we ate outside on a rather quiet street so I can't comment on the inside atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and in any case relevant with the...quality and quantity of the food. I will definitely come again the next time I visit Talinn.More

Dip down in the basement and enjoy the delicious menu of Trofe. Excellent wine card. The Restaurant has friendly staff. Value for money - get away from the Tourist Traps. At Trofe you’ll a genuine atmosphere and very tast food.

Started with the best Aperol Spritz so far in Tallinn and had The best jucy chicken for dinner and excellent service. Thank you!More
