Modern European restaurant located in the heart of Tallinn Old Town. Restaurant Pegasus, which was opened in 1962, is definitely a dining place with the best view and the cosiest atmosphere in the entire Harju street. The restaurant has a versatile and fascinating planning that spans three floors and can accommodate groups of various sizes. The spacious restaurant looks old-school, but offers internationally popular dishes inspired by the season. We have lunch offers on weekdays. The main ingredients are local and of a high quality. We love simple and pure flavours. Pegasus gives wings to your taste buds – you are always welcome here!

Amazing food!

Grabbed lunch at Pegasus while on a quick trip to Tallinn. Ordered two starters (goat cheese tempura and beef tartare) a soup (celeriac) and a main (day special: tagliatelle with cheese and beef). All were excellent taste-wise, although the tartrate was very much on the salty side. The soup had a whipped mousse texture to it, which made it feel like it had too much ‘air’. Nice touch with the thyme branch in the water jug. The staff was very friendly, spoke English. Only small minor point that we had to ask about the dishes of the day upon seeing others having them, instead of the server giving up that information proactively when seating us or taking our orders in. The atmosphere is great and the food tasted really good so we will visit again next time!

Friendly service and delicious food - highly recommend!

Our group had seen the restaurant featured on Travel Man (the inspiration behind our trip!) and ate here on our first night in Tallinn. We were so pleased with the service and our waitress was so friendly and had a great sense of humour. The food was fantastic - I'd recommend the beef tartare and the duck, but across our group of 8 we all tried different things and everyone was raving about the food. We also particularly enjoyed some of the delicious Estonian apple dessert wine and will try and source some to have at home! A must-go if you're in Tallinn.

The best dish I have ever had in a restaurant

We truly enjoyed our dinner in this restaurant. I had lamb and my boyfriend had some kind of white fish. Both main dishes were amazing! Their food is full of interesting flavors and textures. They also offer the best homemade bread as a starter while you wait your mains. We made a reservation few hours before and got a nice table next to the big windows. We absolutely love Rataskaevu restaurants so we have always just went there on our visits to Tallinn but from now on we will definitely be returning to Pegasus too! Next time we will try to go there hungrier to also try their starters and desserts which sounded great too.

Lots and lots of stairs, small portions

The place is somewhat modern, staff speak excellent English. However, the wine list is at least 25% more expensive than comparable restaurants in the area, portions are very small and were not to our liking: Gnocchi was store bought, beef tartar was plastered with mustered. Also, the restaurant is all stairs, no good for kids, elderly or handicapped in any way.

Quality of food not like before

This restaurant has exellent service, but quality of food has went down. I have been eating here earlier many times, allways beeing very happy with the food. Now the duck breast was stiff and had no good taste, could not eat it.

Strange experience

Quite a strange experience actually. While the starters were excellent all the main courses were disappointing. Could it be that there was a different cook for those ?The main courses were tasteless and the steak ordered by one of us was well overcooked. Service was very friendly and efficient though.

Not a hit

Our hopes were up after many reviews we read about the restaurant. The bread that came as an appetizer was excellent and the service was friendly. I had the flank stake which to me was a huge disappointment. First of all when the food was served, the stake was barely warm and only after few minutes the dish was already cold. The caramelized red onions tasted like pickle juice. The gorgonzola butter on the steak tasted odd. I wouldn’t have thought that one can ruin such a simple thing as seasoned butter. Also the potato crips served on top of the dish were kind of unneccessary since they didn’t taste like anything. Maybe the place is better for drinks since the venue is really nice and staff is friendly.

Pegasus for dinner and then for lunch - a good choice

We went for dinner and the next day for a business lunch at Pegasus. I love the food, the modern decor - fine service. I would not neccesarily have found the restaurant if it was not recommended of a friend and then used for lunch by collegues, Because despite the central location - you can overlook it in the street.

An interesting well thought place with great mains and ok desserts

Visiting March on a Sunday we got a table without reservation, atmosphere and acoustics are great, and also very beautifully decorated. The mains were very good, each had a uniqueness to them. Desserts needed some polishing still and it would be 5/5.

Stylish place and delicious cocktails!

This evening we were looking for a nice place to eat and searched for a good twenty minutes, and there it was, restaurant Pegasus in all glory with an amazing view from the second floor. The place looks really stylish and modern from the outside but inside you feel yourself like at home - comfy and relaxed. We didn't have a reservation, but a friendly waiter took us upstairs as we requested (although it was the most popular place to sit down and enjoy the meal). The food was good as well as the cocktails.

Slow chaos…

Terrible service from the kitchen - we waited for the food almost two hours. One of us (7 persons) didn’t get the food ’cos somebody else ate it in other floor. Food was average, too salty potatoes and service was way too slow. Something is totally wrong with this restaurant, do not go!

Disappointing

Good location, terrible service (slow, inefficient, wrong order), in general the food was tasty but the portions very small. A dish was substituted without informing us. The eggplant was burned. Will not visit again.

Okay place

Service was very nice and drinks good. We did eat only lamb and chicken. Food was nothing special for that price. Chicken was try and lamb also. All what was next to lamb killed the taste of meat and sauce.

What a disappointment

I had a flank steak beef dish. The onions and mushrooms on the side tasted like they come straight from can to plate, the potatoes tasted like chips straight from the bag and the seasoning butter with the beef was not good either. The beef itself was cold and poorly seasoned, barely passable. The meal cost about 25€ and the pasta we had on lunch (under 10€) was a lot better. The bread served as an appetizer were the only ones worth the money in the whole dish. Service was fine though

Delicious food

Central, modern restaurant located only 2 minutes’ walk from the Townhall Square. The food had a fantastic appearance and was well prepared, except the duck meat which was prepared much to the red side. The courses all has a little, interesting "twist" e.g. I have never had a eucalyptus crème brûlée before! Service was friendly and professional, and the waiter hit spot on with the choice of wine. Pegasus is much seeked by the locals, which is always a good sign! Prices are in the high end for Tallinn - but it is worth it!
