Food and ambience

Location and contact

Originally a delishop for wines and hams that came through Raekoja plats, it was transformed into a wine bar and general store. After the 2008 flood the cellars were restored. Under an old ceiling, Swedish style, is now possible to eat in this suggestivs, 18th-century location. The furnishings, partially reconstructed with antique materials, re-create a typical wine bar atmosphere of Tuscany. Since 2006 the place has been run by the Giomi family who offer a traditional Tuscan menu, based in panini, antipasti, salads and a broad choice of wines.

We found this small, quite cosy restaurant on a cold, snowy lunch time. It was almost empty and we were seated and got drinks quickly, the food took a while longer. The wine was good, food choice reasonable and the prices OK. The pasta was...More

We visited Il Gallo Nero on our arrival to Tallinn. The restaurant truly is an amazing, quaint, little place run by a very friendly Italian. We had a sharing platter for starters, which consisted of many different meats and cheeses, all very tasty. We then...More

The food and stuff both were very dissapointing. Sorry to come there. Pizza was very dry, vegetables no flavour, the guy who was serving was not even close the one who likes what he does.

We had a great lunch here. The antipasto platter had a delicious variety, and the outside seating was nice on a warm day.

I went in early at 6 pm to check it out. I needed a hot dinner and the lasagna looked tempting. I returned at 6.45 pm, to find that this place is what i call “Starters and no more!”. They had no lasagna. Their dishes...More

Being Italian, when I'm abroad, I hardly go to eat in Italian clubs. In this case I was hit by the simple menu (meats, cheeses, salads, and some first courses) but with many interesting proposals and by the wine list (almost all regions are represented)....More

We went to the trattoria with my family to eat. We had booked a table and got a great, big table by the window and a high chair for our baby. The staff was friendly and the food amazing. Probably on of the best italian...More
