Like the old times

This is my new "stammtisch" in Tallin. All the other places there used to be have closed or changed. Munga Kelder is the same as 20 years ago and I love it. I go there for seljanka and garlic bread. They have lots of other things as well. It is atmospheric and service is friendly. Please, do not... read more

Our family (2 adults, 1 student, 1 teenager and 1 child) ate in this restaurant. We liked the interior. The beefs were good and the potatoes were served in a luxorious way. Our student did not like the beef in a pot, because the menu did not tell what vegetables there would be. The pricing was in the middle class.

The French Onion Soup was perfect on a very snowy day for lunch. Rich and thick with soft onions and cheesy topping on the bread.. I wish they made their own bread like so many restaurants in Tallinn..

On our last night we wandered down an alleyway and found the entrance to this restaurant. We decided to try it, as the menu outside looked interesting. We were a little concerned when we walked down the stairs to an almost empty restaurant, as all the others we had eaten in, had been packed. However the staff were really welcoming... More

The staff in there were great - not overly familiar, just polite and friendly and their English is excellent. This is a great place to go if you want a good quality meal and not pub grub - its not majorly cheap but its not overly expensive either. Its just at the end of St Catherines Passage and you go... Big portions of well cooked food in a medieval themed basement restaurant. Quick service and ideal for those hungry after walking around Tallinn old town.

On the way to Katariina passage, this place is a hidden gem tucked away underground. Do not miss it though - great food, fast service and reasonably priced

This is a fun little restaurant a bit off the beaten path. They do have some sidewalk seating out on the street, but the restaurant itself is entered by turning down a small alley, ducking into an archway, then descending a dark stairway. It's quite quaint, with an ancient "monk's cellar" feel. The secluded location meant very few patrons when... More
