It was our third visit to Amandus and it was once again exceptional. We loved the food, the atmosphere as well as the whole experience presented by the chef Deivydas Parspaliauskas and his team.
The menu changes every month to reflect the seasonality, so every...time you can find something new. This time, the duck was cooked to perfection and all the fish snacks and dishes were really great, each one presenting a bouquet of flavours. The signature rye and beetroot bread got a new twist this time, being charcoal black and the chefs brought both ice and fire to our table to open up the dishes’ amazing smells and textures.
We opted for non-alcohol pairings this time and that was an excellent choice! We were presented by four types of cold brew teas each chosen carefully and prepared by Kristijonas, who was also keen to explain all the delicate aspects of his choices.
The icing on the cake for us this time was the attention we got from the chef and his team. We came to the restaurant being 7 months pregnant, which itself imposed limits on what can be consumed. We informed the restaurant in advance about one of the dishes on the menu at that time, but the staff were flexible and attentive enough that some of the other dishes were made completely safe to the child and the mother. We are very grateful for that!
To sum up, the time spent at Amandus was exceptionally good and we always recommend visiting the restaurant if you are in town.More
