Great food. Specially recommend tuna tataki and one should not miss ravioli (with beef and truffles)!!
Service could have been more attending, but compared to the service level in Lithuania in general, it was not to blame at all.
We've really enjoyed having delicious meals in DIA.
I adore the Tuna carpaccio, my wife loves their fish dishes!
I anticipate every time going there!
Would for sure recommend to visit DIA while staying in Kaunas!
My brother and I had dinner together at the restaurant after a recommendation from a friend. We ordered Wagyu beef carpaccio and tomato soup as first course, and Wagyu flank steak for main course. The food was excellent! The steak cooked perfectly and was M...as I asked! The place is expensive compared to Lithuanian standards, but it was worth every penny.More
Great atmosphere, friendly waiters and a nice meny with great selection. Opted for the tuna tartar for starters which was excellent, steak was a bit thin and had a strange taste of lamb, will stay away from that one next time. Because it will definitely...be a next time 😊More
This was an absolutely sensational experience. Such attention to detail and top notch service. They put the customer 100% first which many restaurants fail to do. This is a must visit. It really won’t disappoint! A meal, service and interior decor never to forget!
Visited for lunch and opted for the daily specials: minced beef soup, salmon pate with tomato bread and scallops with prawns.
Soup was ok, reminded me of a ragu that had been transformed into a soup. Nothing special but ok. The salmon pate was great....It had some beetroot ans salmon roe as granish and for extra flavor. Really good dish altough the bread was not at the same level. The marvellous house bread, which was included in the lunch saved it though.
The scallop and prawn dish was awesome. Well cooked all around, the prawns maybe the best I have had. Big thumbs up for that!
The service was polite and quick which was to expected. Only thing to complain was the price of a bottle of sparkling water, 4€. Other than that I not much negatives. The three courses with the water bottle 18€. Certainly not cheap for Lithuanian standards but I think well worth the money. Give it a try!More
One of the goals during our trip to Kaunas was to visit Dia. The restaurant has been listed in top 30 best restaurants in Lithuania and despite the fact, I did not hear that much buzz around it. Overall it seems Kaunas has dozens of...undiscovered places. We had 6 dishes to taste overall. And the food is solid and absolutely amazing.
Prawns - twist with mango seemed weird at first, but this works so well! And ads a bunch to representation of a dish itself.
Scallops - Wonderful presentation, subtle touches of hollandaise and truffles. I am not yet fully convinced about this dish and the unity of taste of separate parts, but representation is amazing.
Langoustine bisque with with Jerusalem Artichoke - My favorite of the evening. It blends wonderfully, has a distinct aftertaste that still keeps me dreaming, remembering and wondering, and it is rich and very colorful dish.
Ravioli with ricotta / spinach - full of taste, at the same time being light and very well balanced. Well done.
Super sashimi tuna - if there is tuna on the menu, it is a must to have it. Wonderfully done, subtle tastes and aftertastes of vegetables, mixing with salsa verde and pea cream and you get a dish where no single bite is the same as the previous or upcoming one. Great.
Desserts - wonderful in presentation. If I have to choose one and only one - let it be cheese cake with salted caramel ice cream.
Lots of surprises and beautiful sights for your eyes and taste-buds. And there are at least a handful of dishes that are "to be tasted" during next visit. And I am sure there will be next visit, I hope it will be soon.
You must not skip this place when visiting Kaunas and be sure to reserve your table when going there!
