Options are limited in town and this is the best we tried during our stay. The service is not the friendliest but the food is good.
We had the Chicken Wings and the Pork Ribs with Barbecue Sauce and some Roast Potatoes. There was plenty of food and it was all really tasty and well cooked. With a few beers and a tip, the final bill came to around €32 or around £30 which is just silly money for this type of meal.
Recommended.

We had lunch twice and breakfast once at this restaurant and we loved it. I recommend the chicken burger, the vegan chickpea salad and the Smokovec breakfast. The service was good and some of the waiters could speak English. Menus are in English too. You should also eat outside on the terrace to enjoy the mountain views.

Very nice restaurant which we were recommended to visit, food was delicious and very tasty. I ordered cheeseburger which was great but the fries were not hand cut which is a bit pity, it would add so much value to the dish. The second dish we ordered was a combo of steak, ribs and wings - all delicious. Very friendly and nice staff, we will return for sure:)

We were looking for a good restaurant during our vacation in High Tatras last summer. A friend of mine recommended Stary Smakovec and we were not disappointed! We had burger with chips, chicken breast with baked potatos, all very tasty, but my bbq ribs, well they might match the very best I ever ate. And for beer lovers, Pilsner Urquell on the tap, really cant do any better. Staff was friendly and prices are very reasonable for the location. We will def come back!

Went 3 times during our stay at the Grand. Very welcoming and the food served was excellent and not overpriced. Neither myself or my wife are vegetarian but twice we both choose a vegetarian meal. The website is excellent and the menu will hopefully tantalise your taste buds.

We were so lucky to choose this place! We had an awesome dinner here with our friends and family. From our table there was a beautiful view of the mountains. Our waiter was friendly and made us feel welcome. The prefectly poured Pilsners were quickly on the table and our children got looked after with quick service of kids meals too. We were very happy with the food. There were options for everyone with vegan dishes, fresh trout, burgers and real juicy steaks. Everyones food was beautifully presented and delicous. We found the place very reasonably priced for the location and the quality of produce. Basically its ecxellent value for money!
Thank you for the whole team! We had a great time and hope we can visit again soon!

Very good position, very good kitchen and service. Plenty of tables inside and outside. During autumn/winter season, overhead heaters are available. Serving typical Slovak food mixed with pub-like dishes (ribs, wings, hamburgers etc.). They serve beer and spirits as well. Never have I ever had a bad food/experience there.

Friendly and professional personnel, excellent food made from quality ingredients. Whether you need gluten free food, you're vegan or you love meat you can have a great meal here.

We visited Stary Smacovec for an early dinner with our family and were so impressed! The aesthetic and atmosphere was so nice to walk into, you could tell it had been well thought through, and we were blown away with the quality of the food! The produce was so fresh and the ribs, steak and chicken was cooked perfectly! It’s by far the best food we’ve had during our trip. The beer and service was also great!
The restaurant is located in the middle of town and the view of the mountains from the seats out the front was gorgeous!
The kids had a great time running around out the front of the restaurant, but we did also notice a small kids area inside close to a couple of tables which would be a great option too.
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, it’s one not to miss!

Nice place to eat with draft tank pilsner urquell beer. We had cheeseburger served with fries and barbeque sauce, pork steak with fried potatoes and seasonal specialty pretzel with butter, as dessert we tried grilled pineapple. Everything was delicious, prices are good too.

We had such a perfect experience at Stary Smakovec for the first time we've ever been there. The Place was recommended to us from our good friend and we were not disappointed. We had a few items out of the whole menu as tartar steak, duck risotto, soup of the day , traditional Slovakian halusky and at the last place del;icious Pilsner Urquell from tank. All the food we had was excellent. Portions are huge and the meal value is very reasonable considering we are in high Tatras my friends!

We really enjoyed our stay at this resteraunt. The food was awesome and was served in 15 minutes. At this place i’ve had the best beer in my life. The staff was friendly and was very happy when I asked about the taste and origin of the beer. They’re clearly beer specialists ;). The restaurant looks great overall.

This place is worth a visit. There is a good selection on the menu with local dishes and some great looking steaks. The beer and cocktail menu is good, a little limited with the wine selection. The food was amazing and very tasted. The staff speak English and very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of families so be prepared at times for the ‘annoying children’. I would return in the future.

Great experience! They found the table easily for 4 of us. Service quick and friendly.. Food options very creative, our choices were delicious!! 👌🏻 Beef tartare was great.. so was mine beetroot salad with hoat cheese and almonds.. loved it .

Best tartare steak I've ever had in my life, the tank Pilsner Urquell is delicious, it’s like balsam for my heart.
Staff is friendly and professional.
Highly recommend this place for everybody.
