Cozy place in the historical center of Kosice

Republika Vychodu is a cozy restaurant with awesome food and good service. I went there three times during my last stay in Kosice and I didn't get bored of it. It is a great place to have a meal with a friend, but I have seen couples and families around as well. It is very homey and I felt very comfortable there. I've had a chicken soup which really warmed me up on a cold day, but also tried Slovak halusky, a plate of patés, and crêpes with fruit. I had some nice wine as well. Unlike foreigners, people from Eastern Slovakia can appreciate another special feature - the entire menu is written in our dialect which makes the place even more endearing. Foreign or local, I am sure anyone can enjoy visiting Republika Vychodu.

Great concept!

Perfect idea in heart of city center. Menu is really interesting I couldn't stop looking in almost whole our visit. Staff very attentive and familiar with menu offer which is quite rare unfortunately. Had choco pancakes and I really enjoyed them, will defo coming back to try more.

Cozy restaurant with kind service

Really nice kind and smiling service. The food tasted like if your mother cooked it - such an excellent experience. Also, this restaurant zooms you in the culture of the Eastern part of Slovakia. I surely recommend visiting!

Worst eggs benedict I’ve had.

Chose this place for breakfast, Ordered two plates of eggs benedict. Worst eggs Benedict I have ever had. Hollandaise sauce tasted sour and left an after taste in the mouth. ‘Bacon’ was poorly cooked too. However poached eggs were made perfect. Other than that the atmosphere and customer service was great. Their menu seemed to look pretty decent and prices too but the eggs Benedict was such a let down!!!

So good so far brunch in Košice

So good so far restaurant located in Košice. We wanted to have a brunch this day in Košice. The service was great but no taste so far on the food. If you want a good place and atmosphere for a brunch in Kosice go but for the food I will not push you to go

Yummy food and pretty good decorated

I was really pleased to visit this restaurant also in Covid pandemic situation. We had a chance to eat really good/ tasty/nicely decorated meal with friendly price. I can't wait to visit this Restaurant in a person soon as possible. Stay healthy

Sooo tasty!

Place is sooo tasty. Worth to come and dine in. I didn’t put 5 stars cause - 1st load music like on some night club & 2nd they has 4 main dishes with meat and at 7pm they did not have one of those.. but everything else perfect. Staff, interior & especially foooood!

Food with a spice of racism.

We were there 2021 august. We didnt have problem with the food but the people. When the waitresses realized we are from Hungary, switched from kind to very unpolite. This kind of racism is very unprofessional and makes distance between countires. Next time we will use only the roads in Slovakia, thank you for the experience.

Lovely evening and fabulous food

Absolutely love this restaurant and cafe! Probably one of my top 3 favorite spots in Košice now. Pavel was our server and he really made the whole dining experience lovely and elevated for me and my boyfriend. We’ll absolutely be returning for the great food, drinks, and desert! Thank you Pavel for making our evening!

This restaurant is nice for breakfast. Food was good. Coffee was good. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately I waited quite long for my food and the place was not that busy when I was there.

The pedestrianised Hlavna Ulica, the main street, is the place to be in Kosice. A spot I enjoyed for dinner here, was the restaurant 'Republika Vychodu' facing the Gothic St.Elizabeth Cathedral. There are about 10 round tables outside, while indoors the room has a cross-vaulted ceiling (maybe inspired by the church). Sitting outside with a Slovak 'Kaltenecker 11' pilsner lager, I had the opportunity to study the menu card with not too many, but original dishes. It also gave some information about the name 'Republic of the East' (Republika Vychodu). It made me think, that maybe after the split up of former Czechoslovakia they here were - no doubt jokingly - talking of separating the new Slovakia into a western and eastern part. I had first been given a Slovak menu card, then an English one. For dinner I sat inside by the window, still having a great view. On both my visits two young friendly waitresses were in charge, with whom I could well communicate in English. My choices for dinner were on the first evening pierogi (dumplings) with a filling of red cabbage, topped by fresh figs and accompanied by duck breast. I enjoyed it, although the 'pierogi' dough was a bit too thick and tough for my taste. The next evening, happily returning here after the positive experience of my first dinner, I went for 'beef cheeks on mashed potatoes with mushrooms, spinach and thyme', which I also liked. There was pleasant and not too loud jazz and pop music from the background.

Great pancakes

Visited here for breakfast and got the pancakes. They were so nice that we had to go back again during our stay. The service was really quick and the staff were really friendly. I’d definitely recommend coming here for food
