I spotted this place on another website and after getting under and over the traffic found it was well worth the walk. When I got there at 11.45am it was full of locals eating whichich is always a good sign. Unfortunately I had McDonald's breakfast an hour earlier so just had 2 pints at 2.10 Euro each. Don't let the massive concrete flats next to it put you off it was one of the best pubs I tried in this country.

Mr twin brother Stephen and I had took the short bus ride from the bus station by the Old Town across the New Bridge ( UFO Tower ) over to the Petržalka side of the River Danube to visit the fantastic Clock Block Restaurant and Bar ( great beers and local cuisine,a 5 minute journey ) and after visiting there we decided to visit some of the other local pubs over here and Derby Pub was a great find.
Located in a rather eclectic, modern and not particularly pretty square you ascend a flight of stairs by the Billa Shoping Centre and the pub is found in a modern building,the interior is cool,a light and airy interior with great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar which dominates the room,a fabulous terrace and beautifully decorated up for the Christmas period, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this cavernous pub,it's a great place to unwind in.
We were here on a Friday early afternoon, pub had just opened up for the day so we were about the first customers of the day so we could really appreciate what a great looking pub this is.
Greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each,we both opted to have Pilsner Urquell beer, these were served in tip top condition being iced cold and sparkling and at €1.80c for an 0.5L measure great value for money and we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My Pilsner Urquell beer was absolutely fantastic, I love this beer from the Czech Republic ,it's such a light,hoppy and unpretentious beer, bursting with taste and very easy to drink and a beer style I really enjoy, my twin brother also gave the thumbs up to his beer.
We soon polished off our first beers and decided to have one more drink,this time we opted to have a Becherovka each, this delicious herbal liqueur is a particular favourite of mine, it's very strong but also so tasty and on such a freezing cold day warmed us up before we faced the elements outside.
We moved on after our beers and becherovka's and for a first time visit we were very impressed with this pub.
Derby Pub is easy to locate on Nobelovo Námestie ,we jumped bus 88 over New Bridge to stop Einsteinova and it's a two minute walk over to the Billa Supermarket were you will find this pub.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Thursday, 11am till Midnight.
Friday & Saturday, 11am till 2am.
Sunday, 11am till Midnight.
A great pub ,well worth seeking out if your in the area, if you visit this pub and enjoy quality beers in the square were Derby Pub is found there is a fabulous craft beer bar called NoBell Bar which is also well worth seeking out.

We enjoyed the sitting on the terrace and having some food & drinks with friends, as this pub is opened even during the week to late hours - till midnight.
