Food is okay, nothing to gag about. Mediocre beer selection. Waitress eating at the pantry in the back when we sat down, not a bother in the world for public health. Walls are decorated with questionable historical pictures. Very claustrophobic inside and not a welcoming...atmosphere.More

Nice food and drinks. Best to book as it gets busy. Self service at the bar for orders and drinks but they will bring the food to your table. Lovely atmosphere and decor.

Looking for somewhere local to eat in Szeged and eventually found Malata. Quaint and quirky interior, great choice of food, loads of craft beers. I had the pulled pork, will definitely be back for more.

All the beer options are really tasty, from the lager, the dark lager, the 9% alcohol IPA, and the best meggy/ cherry beer i have tried.

We visited for a drink so didn't try the food, except for some fries (which were good). You buy your drinks at the bar which is fine. The place outside is just great - a really relaxing way to have a few drinks. It's popular...but we were able to get a table. They serve craft beer - which isn't really my thing but the wine more than made up for it. Will definitely return.More

We went there on working day, and they opened around 4pm. Service was quick since we were the only guests and the waitress was kind. We ate bacon burgers with chedar cheese, and burgers were fine, not particulary amazing but tasty. On the other hand,...I would definitely recommend white wine with apricots, it was delicious on a rainy day! All in all, nice place to eat but a little bit overrated on tripadvisor.More

Nice atmosphere, the background knowledge of the very friendly and nice staff is outstanding. Great selection of craft beers. Worth mentioning that they have clean and civilised toilets, which is always a plus. 12/10 would recommend

We visited due to high review score on tripadvisor and we also expected to have traditional food. No traditional food here and the food was also average the most..The cesar salad was bland and tasteless and the gyros portion was small and dry and the...souce extermly watery. We left feeling dissapointed.More

I can literally say that I am in love with their Pulled Beef BBQ Ciabatta. During the summer time, outside is a perfect place to meet your friends and try their different beers. Always nice people around. Make sure that you know the table number...while ordering with the cashier, they might get angry sometimes 😬More

The waitress was horribly arogant and sarcastic ! We had a massive table booked for 15 people and I had to be sorry for every single drink that I’ve ordered. She was trying to be a smart arogant !! This things doesn’t work in hospitality...especially when none of us went there to take the piss ... ! It was my first time in that city and pub- I was very disappointed!More

The food was amazing and came fairly quickly but we did eat pretty late. Large variety of drinks. The cheeseballs are a MUST.

Located in downtime, with outside seating as well. Had drinks only. Staff is friendly and helps to choose from quite wide range of beer options. Czech, Nordic beers are available as well. Tried Mohito and it was quite close to the ones I had in...Cuba, so more than recommended.More

Been there and had one beer. Nice place, friendly staff, huge selection of beers... but I wasn't in the mood to wait over 1 hour for an burger. That's a little crazy.

I have been living in Szeged for more than 3 years and visited Malata many times. It used to be this great pub with a cool atmosphere, interesting beers and delicious food. I recently visited the place in February and in May 2019 and, while...the quality and quantity of beers offered is more than satisfying, the food is well disappointing. First of all, burgers are overpriced compared to other places in Szeged, the meat is dry and not much, the amount of fries is embarrassing, I received more or less 10 pieces. I don't know why the food became so bad, but I wish they improve it. For now, I advice anyone to choose any other place for a beer and a burger, where the quality is higher and prices are more acceptableMore

Well worth paying a visit here if the title of the review sounds like your thing then this is a place you should try. Rotational beers with a solid line up of bbq food. Recommend the drowned god- Laphroaig barrel finished ale. Expensive but worth...a try if you love Laphroaig.More
