This cafe is situated in a side street close to Dugonics square and the Faculty of Law. The building is new, the style is modern. The courtyard is shady and pleasant in the Summer heat. In addition to a good selection of different coffees they...offer breakfast, brunch and light meal all day. The wine list is short, but contains well selected items. The home made lemonade was refreshing. I liked a lot the tonic - espresso cocktail with ice.
This weekend they offered dinner with food-wine combinations and live music. The chicken soup had a rich taste, and was served with sliced meat, traditional Hungarian pasta and julienne vegetables and a glass of prosecco. The thinly sliced smoked duck breast was served on fresh salad with pomegranate seeds and paired with a glass of zenit, a Hungarian rich white. A great dish for a hot Summer evening. The salmon was garnished with an excellent celery puree and accompanied by a great Chardonnay. The chicken supreme with paprika potato and sour cabbage was tasty, but heavy. The kadarka was a good pairing. Both desserts, a cheese cake with blueberry sauce and the apple cake with cinnamon were fresh and well prepared.
The staff is young and helpful.
