Simply the best restaurant in Sopron. Everything is working flawlessly. The waiter was very efficient, could easily recommend wine and food. Before the soup we got a little appetiser, it was quite tasty and a nice touch. The dishes looked and tasted great, the textures...and ingredients were nice and carefully selected, so they complimented each other contributing to the dish being an excellent culinary experience. A true gourmand should really visit this place. I highly recommend it.More
So I’ve been coming here for many many years and I adore this restaurant. It’s by far the best in Sopron and one of the best in Hungary. It’s really nice to see them doing so well. I came here for years and sat under...an umbrella outside in the green garden. Now they have this fancy glass winter garden. It was wonderful seeing so many families with young kids out for Sunday lunch (late lunch in our case) really speaks highly for this special country. We had a fabulous lunch - I ate foie gras for my appetizer and main and my niece had foie gras then catfish paprikas. I asked for all seared no fried foie gras for my main and it was HEAVENLY. The sauce and mashed potatoes were perfect with the fresh melt-in-your-mouth duck foie gras. We enjoyed glasses of sparkling rose and were too full for dessert (though I would have indulged if they still had the gundel style pancake on the menu) This is truly a gourmet experience. I preferred their delightful crispy bread to the soft brioche served with the foie gras appetizer. Would prefer if they still included more of the traditional Hungarian dishes on their menu but I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. It deserves more than 5 stars!!!! Worth the drive from Vienna or anywhere.More
After 9 years, I wanted to taste the great food in the restaurant. No disappointment, the starters and main courses were very good. Of the 4 types os wine none was acceptable quality for such a place and priece. The waiters were very unfriendly and...bored, only by paying the over 12% service charge we realised, why... All in all, the kitchen did great, however by the time we left we were disillusioned...More
Little pricy but it's worth it. We had délicious meals. The Fiat cheese with the rich salad with strawberries and various nuts was amazing.
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing service. I recommend this place wholeheartedly to all, who’d love to eat an amazing meal and being treated as a GUEST. Special thanks to our very waiter who made our experience unforgettable.
We enjoyed a quick lunch with good food and polite and attentive staff. Worth to mention the langos with truffles (see picture) and the Halaszle, the classic Hungarian fish soup, cooked to perfection with large pieces of carp and catfish. Yummy!
The food is awesome and the cherry on the top is the Somloi Galuska! If somebody visits this place, it’s a must to order a Somloi Galuska. I have never ever had such a delicious Somloi before! I was amused about the taste and the...portion. Also the main dish was perfect. It was a „Erhardt” Schnitzel with potato – lamb’s lettuce salad, pumpkin seeds-oil. The size of the schnitzel is huge, thickness is perfect and the taste is just superb. The salad could not be better. Also it’s portion is just as it must be considering the size of the schnitzel. This is a must visit restaurant if you are staying or traveling across Sopron!More
Hungarian and European cousine, but not in a traditional way, they make a trick of all the courses. Very tasty, good quality food. Nice service and ambiant. The garden area is very pleasant. I recommend the Harcsapaprikás, which is a very Hungarian food, but made...a bit differently here. The coffee is very Austrian, Vienna style if you like that.More
The stuff was polite The menu was great. The food was delicious. the restaurant is highly recommended.
We had a mid – week evening meal, coming here on a friend‘s recommendation. Restaurant was approximately half full. We were seated in the first room as we entered which is probably the best place. There was some background music, noticeable only after half an hour...which is good, though the choice of music was not to our taste. We had immediate and attentive service. The food was excellent and the portions large. I can only blame myself for ordering roast duck liver as a starter followed by belly pork: there was no room left for dessert. The wine selection was superb, including local wines, and I particularly rated the whole page of by-the-glass options. Great evening.More
Ordered 2 ribeye steaks. They ruined both of them! Overcooked them. Shame to ruin such an expensive piece of steak. They said sorry. But that didn't fix our meal. They offered free dessert but that did not fix my steak either. We would never go...back there. We had high expectations!More
I'm so sorry, that they had left our family restaurant in disappointment. May I give You for it any compensation, if You visit us again in the future? Best regards, Zsuzsanna Erhardt
Excellent dinner outside on the terrace, service was fast and food was excellent: we took the summer prawns risotto and the duck breast. We enjoyed a lot and can only recommend it!
No udpade with reviews over here for long time, so let me put few words about the restaurant with an update. Me and my wife visited this place in July, based on great reviews and pictures of the food. The service was good, professional, not...much to complaint here. For starters we have ordered tartar and goat cheese. Both were ok, nothing really special, but again nothing to complaint. The main dishes were disappointed. The presentation was great, but in flavour it was flat. Nothing really special, no "love" in food. My wife had chicken paprikas and I had goose liver. The liver was overpower by some sweet mus, there was too many apples, so in the end I was thinking the main ingredients are the apples not livers. All together it tasted like a mash of "something". On top of the livers I got truffles, which tasted like paper, no smell, no taste, I know their are expensive, but I simple think there were old, which all the aroma already evaporated. The restaurant add 12.5% of tip on top of the bill. More that average, I used to tip in restaurant but simple think 12.5 % is too much for this place.More
There’s a nice big area to eat outside. My duck was overcooked and my daughter’s fish was just ok. My husband’s Mangalica pork was good though.
