Excellent dinner outside on the terrace, service was fast and food was excellent: we took the summer prawns risotto and the duck breast. We enjoyed a lot and can only recommend it!

No udpade with reviews over here for long time, so let me put few words about the restaurant with an update. Me and my wife visited this place in July, based on great reviews and pictures of the food. The service was good, professional, not...much to complaint here. For starters we have ordered tartar and goat cheese. Both were ok, nothing really special, but again nothing to complaint. The main dishes were disappointed. The presentation was great, but in flavour it was flat. Nothing really special, no "love" in food. My wife had chicken paprikas and I had goose liver. The liver was overpower by some sweet mus, there was too many apples, so in the end I was thinking the main ingredients are the apples not livers. All together it tasted like a mash of "something". On top of the livers I got truffles, which tasted like paper, no smell, no taste, I know their are expensive, but I simple think there were old, which all the aroma already evaporated. The restaurant add 12.5% of tip on top of the bill. More that average, I used to tip in restaurant but simple think 12.5 % is too much for this place.More

There’s a nice big area to eat outside. My duck was overcooked and my daughter’s fish was just ok. My husband’s Mangalica pork was good though.

Had lunch in their backyard terrace. The menu was small and prices high compared to the value served. There is many other places in Sopron that I would rather spend my money than here.

Nice place in the citycentre, in an old beautifull building, delicious food, good staff, there are smaller dining rooms so you can separate your family congenial atmosphere!

This is one of those restaurants you hate and love. Good food, pretty traditional, service quite efficient, but a touristic place very crowded almost all the time. In our case what influenced the "bad mood" that brought to 3 rating (instead of a natural 4)...was the fact they put our table in a kind of mezzanine, close to a broken fridge. Pretty ugly place, and not so quite as we thought initially since waiters had to pass from there to reach the rooms downstairs. Besides the atmosphere disaster (we were 2), and an "accelerated" service delivered by a very professional, but quite young, waiter, food was more than decent and wine was OK. Price pretty high, but acceptable.More

I was having some trouble online trying to find vegetarian-friendly restaurants in Sopron ahead of my day trip. I finally happened upon Erhardt and am very happy having done so. It was a beautiful sunny day so eating out in the garden was perfect. The...one vegetarian meal on the menu, grilled vegetables with halloumi cheese, was beautifully presented and tasty. I also liked the chocolate hummus dessert. The restaurant was very very busy at lunch time on a Saturday. As a result, the service was a bit slow but we were not in a hurry so this was not an issue for us. All in all, I would recommend Erhardt for any vegetarians visiting Sopron.More

Tsk. What a waste of a beautiful space! I was staying here (and the rooms are just fine, though located in a modern building two blocks away) and so I had a look at the dining room as I checked in. Charming! Just the sort...of atmosphere you want. But when I arrived for dinner after changing they wanted to put me on the terrace (with their other diners) . I said I preferred to eat inside (it was a hot and muggy night and their terrace is nothing special and rather airless). The waiter looked incredulous and said "why?" Okay, BAD start! I am the customer and I get to have my preferences because that is how it works. But the wait staff here understand NOTHING about their jobs and how to do them. Rather than pleasantly seating me inside my waiter sulked (no , really, like a petulant child) and reluctantly showed me to a table in the delightful dining room. But the dining room was to be my only comfort. After bringing me the menu the sulking waiter was replaced by a girl who seemed to have no idea what so ever how to wait on table (not that the young man was any better). It isn't so much that the staff here are rude, it is that they are completely feckless. It is as if the management had gone to the local high-school and said "who wants to wait tables tonight?" and the kids who didn't actually want to do their homework that night raised their hands and said "Oh me, ME!" It seems the high schoolers had to go out for a smoke because they changed to yet another waiter (middle aged man). This chap at least looked me in the eye and made an effort without sulking or giggling . Ah, but if he had really been my friend he would have leaned over and said "Sir, if you want a decent meal get out of here while you still can". No. Instead he directed me to the garlic soup. How is it that anyone can make garlic soup that doesn't taste of garlic ? I was warned that the flavor of the soup was so strong I would be wasting any wine I tried to pair with it. Right! So on it came and...tasteless , odorless luke warm bowl of milky gruel . It tasted like the sort of thing the nuns might give you if you had been sent to a home for wayward girls. "Shame on you. You just eat your gruel!" Next came the sautéed goose livers which the waiter had beamed about! Actually, this proved to be a pile of friend onions and lots of potatoes and ...wait a minute...yes, there they are! Three whole morsels of goose liver. Were these three mouthfuls worth all the fuss? No. Not in the slightest. This is what the nuns serve you after you have tried to escape or talked about getting an abortion or doubted the existence of God. This was food as PUNISHMENT . How is it ,you ask, that I rate this restaurant as merely poor rather than terrible? Dear reader, I have been subjected to the truly terrible in my time and this does not meet the high standards of "terrible " . Terrible I reserve for those special places that make you wake up in a cold sweat years later when you have a nightmare remembering what they served. Erhardt does not rate in that special circle. Erhardt is merely MEH. It is a lousy dining experience all around (except that dining room!), but soon forgotten. Go ask to look inside, admire it for a moment and then walk out and go have a nice dinner somewhere else.More
