I visit each time I am in Sarvar (10 times in 15 years) and the quality is consistently good. Delicious traditional dishes, good service, beautiful location. Definitely a favourite for our family.

We went there for a big family meal of about 20 people. We gave our orders in advance, so we didn't have to wait. The soups, main courses, desserts were all good, the waiters were kind and attentive (e.g. when our 3-year-old started to cry...because all high chairs seemed to be occupied, they were quick to get another one!). I had the local dish "dödölle", an old Hungarian dish, and it was very good. The coffe is also fine. I can recommend this place.More
Very nice set up, the surrounding is amazing. The service was very quick and the food was also good. It is just a little far from the city center, so it is better to take your car, but than you can't drink alcohol.
It’s a very nice place a lot of green and you can se the the people riding horses before you get there on your way The restaurant it’s not a high class restaurant but it’s cozy and they will surprise you with very nice food!...I never had better gulyas soup in my life and I eat often.More
We ordered two kind of schnitzel with roast potatoes(special order)- one of us got schnitzel with pommes frites and the other got garlic soup?? Next serving had the "right" potatoes, but they were almost not roasted, the schnitzel was the same as in the first...try, but it had become dry from reheating. Outside was a small fencing with some poor deer and other animals standing in mud to entertain the guests. That was awful - so was the signs that warned the guests against the animals - they could bite !? I would also bite in that situation!More
It s so pity, that service is so poor, because restaurant have fantastic food ! You have to try local dishes, they are really good - gulash soup, meats , paprika etc. Also is cheap.
I arrived evening in town and I picked a place to have dinner. The kitchen was about closing, I was the last guest but I still got a table. The waitresses were kind and pretty. I had a great dinner. I suggest this place because...of their wild meat dishes. Those are fresh and unique here.More
The Vadkert Major restaurant has moved ant the end of October - for abou 150 metres from the old oine - I like the new one as I liked the old none before - typical Hungarian!
It has not a large selection but the food is very good. The personal is kind. We were satisfied with everything
This is a very impressive place with the 3 different buildings. Hospitality is on a major level. Very close to the spa centre. I definitely recommend for families who love animals and want to have a really nice experience.
In the past years we visited this place several years. The service was never excellent, but OK and the waiting time for the food has been long before. But this years experiance made clear: Never again. The male servant behaved arrogant, was bored and played...with his mobile while we were waiting for simple food more than an hour. Not because of a crowded restaurant. The place was nearly empty and as the customer count reached 12 the server needed help. We still waited for a second drink to order It seams that the nicer the place gets from year to year the worse the service and food quality.More
Went here based on some reviews on here, we do come to Hungary quite a lot and do find it hard to find an above average meal, there was seven of us, came in sat in the covered area outside, quite pleasant but later on we...seemed to be plagued with wasps! Once sat we had to attract attention to gain the drinks order, I can't seem to understand why they don't rush to serve you when it's hot, seem like they can't be bothered but I think most of Hungary seems like this especially if you're English. Food order taken OK, food arrived nice and hot, I ordered chicken Kiev and was disappointed it was cut in half, quite small and smothered with cheese yet menu didn't mention cheese, my Mr's had schnitzel and was cooked fresh but was only a medium sized piece, others had salads which seemed nice. Got plagued with wasps and as the kids were not liking them paid and left, so to sum up, reasonably good but not too great on portion size, and left me still hungry, slightly bigger portions and better service or at least with a smile and it would be better.More
A nicely designed and built farm-unit: without practical farming. The central building was erected more than 100 years ago - it is converted to a nice hotel -rooms with ensuite bathroom. A lovely lobby, and a terrace-restaurant makes it "alike" b similar estate in Bratain....Some more buildings have also been made (partly re-made): stables for the many horses they have, an other wing for the guests, and even a sauna building for additional comfort. The park is quite large, and the whole complex is just across the Spa of SÁRVÁR (which is one of the best and biggest water-entertainment units in Hungary). For those on "budget" - even a small Camping is operated in the premises. The whole Farm is nicely maintainedMore
We decided not to cook anything on the holiday of 1 November, so we went to Vadkert Major to eat lunch. The portions were so big, so we did not stay hungry. My favourite dessert is the so called "Somloi galuska", so I tried this...and it was delicious - the second best I've ever tasted. So my whole family said it was one of our best lunches.More
Arrived 1h before dusk, stunning view. Trout with salad was perfect. Good desserts too. Everything delivered in time. I'd go back for sure.
