It is in a great location, I'd definitely explain where the name is coming from, as it is quite interesting, and it makes the place even more unique. It is close to a fine dining experience, with mid-high price range. The main courses were all...brilliant, but the dessert was a bit disappointment, as there were just 2 offered and both had almond/marzipan taste in it, what most of us didn't like, I'd definitely suggest to offer something without this taste to please more people. But all in all, the main course is the star of the meal, and it was really nice!More

Delicious breakfasts and excellent customer service. We tested it 3 days in a row while being in Eger, so we tried several options from the menu and everything was spot on - especially the pancakes!

The starters were good and one of us (out of three) liked the main course too. It is in an excellent location but compared to other restaurants in the city very much overpriced with very small variety, nothing special. We dined during our holiday at...about ten restaurants and this was the only disappointment, and it wasn't only because of the price, as we were happy with other restaurants in the same price range in the city. The waitress was nice, though.More

It's rare to find a restaurant where the food is not only delicious, but also an experience you remember for a long time. The staff are friendly and professional. It's worth sitting by the windows for a nice view of the castle.

We spent an hour drinking a delicious ristretto and a creamy coffee latte. The daily pastry, kakoscsiga, was the best I've ever eaten!

I am currently moving to Eger city for university. The flat I will be renting is still occupied therefore I got a room without internet connection. I was searching for a vegan friendly coffee shop when I found Depresso. Amaziing vegan food, friendly staff. Quick...internet connection. Highly recommend it.More

This was a rainy day and one of my friends and I want to try this famous café. The waitress/waiters told us there isn’t any tables where we can sit down. So we waited there. After 20 mins there was an empty table and we...asked that can we sit down but the waitress told us we can’t because no empty tables, but next to her was the empty table. 🤔 Right after that two foreign sat down to the empty table and the same waitress gave them the menu cards. I think this is really disgusting, so we left this place.More

A cosy place in the centre of Eger, founded by a famous Hungarian psychiatrist (nomen est omen). The sandwiches are brilliant and the coffee is one of the best I've had in Hungary.

Very nice cafe to visit, loved the ambiance inside. Staff is really helpful and can talk in English. Cappuccino was very delicious, but Americano could be better. Still delicious and the good place to go!

I am not sure what the hype is. This place was packed within minutes of opening- but why? The service was courteous but slow. The prices for drinks are high - even higher than most places in Budapest. The bathroom isn’t great. Coffee was good...though. We didn’t order food based on how long it took to get some service but we definitely don’t feel like we are missing out.More

Went back many times, mostly because of an excellent Brasil mixen espresso, but all standards are high quality: cheesecake with mango topping in jasmine jelly, omelette with filling of mozarella and herbs, some examples only.

This is just off the main square and perfect for coffee and a sit down. Many locals and a wide range of beverages and food. I only had a coffee but it was very very good. Quaint inside. Would happily recommend.

Came here on a rainy Saturday morning to have breakfast, luckily we booked a table in advance so we had good seats with a view. We ordered an omlett with porcini mushroom, plus bacon and fried eggs with vegetable and avocado cream. The omlett was...a bit too salty but nicely prepared. The fried eggs was a bit too expensive but nice, the avocado cream was delish. The waitress was probably a newby as she was surprised on our order when we added two extra eggs. Also when we asked if we can get some toast she said they don't have, and took us a couple questions to find out that they do serve bread but fresh ones. She could have been a bit more discreet with the check but that's just my sensitivity. The coffee wasn't the most common taste but it was decorated nicely. The weakest point was definitely the charged tap water. All in all it was a rather good but pricey breakfast. Tip: book a table in advanceMore
