We came here with high expections because it was recommended to us but in the end we were dissapointed. Staff was nice and waiting time not long at all. The food is average. You wont leave hungry but you can find better places to eat.

Staff were polite professional and nice. You have a wide range of traditional hungarian dishes. The restaurant itself is vert cosy and represents the past.
We came here for the high recommendations, however we were disappointed. The food was average at best. The pricing was also a bit too high for hungarian standards. We have eaten a lot better in Hungary. If you drive by this place it's ok, but...I wouldn't make a detour just to visit here.More
I visited this restaurant with a group of customers. The restaurant is established 1731 and it looks very nice. The staff was friendly. The portions were huge and the gulash soup just perfect. The prices were at least for a Finn very cheap.
The staff is extremely friendly, they had a kind and not boring word to all of our company. The service was fast. The only unpleasant thing was smoking. At nearly all table somebody smoked. I know that is is allowed outside in Hungary but as...a nonsmoker I would have appreciated separated area.More
It has everything you expect from a typical hungarian restaurant. As I remember when I was a child the "Csárda" was the most popular place to eat for a foreigner in Hungary. Nowadays fine dining is the most popular in Hungary but this place keeps...the traditional way and this is so good.More
If you really want to enjoy a Sunday afternoon in the Hungarian countryside then you must visit this restaurant. The decoration, atmosphere and even the surrounding "if you choose to dine outside" is a truly enjoyable experience. The food is tasty and of adequate proportions,...price wise it is very acceptable. You must remember however that this is in no way fine dining, and if you dont mind a couple of stains on the table cloth, a slightly worn out kitchen utensils, or even some dust on the furniture, then you will probably enjoy it....it is all part of the experience.More
We really had a good time. It is said to be always full of customers, the food was really good though, the quality, the quantity of the food was excellent. The waiter was very friendly, helpful, and was smiling! The prices are fair.
Good points: fast and friendly waiters, nice and authentic ambiance in the(kinda small) diding rooms, nice variety of dishes on the menu Bad points: old and dry (maybe reheated) pancake, the dressing for the salad was full (maybe only) mayo, the toliet was extremely cold...I really expected more.More
The fish soup usually good, but I think some time it isn't fresh, and one of the waiters too "friendly", He always enter to the guests private zone with private questions. If You lucky, you can eat a good fish food.
Went there with friends for a Hungarian lunch. It was perfect. Home style cuisine, nice and friendly staff. If you visit the neighbourhood, don't miss it!
If you are in Debrecen this trip is worthy to eat awesome food, nice professional service. Spacious outside terrace, excellent food. if you are not afraid of not usual courses just bravely try the "pacal porkolt" ;)
We visited here for breakfast and found the menu to contain a wide variety of hungarian dishes. We chose to sit inside, although the weather was nice so we could have been outside too. Service was fast, prompt and friendly. The interior original Hungarian, beautifully...decorated everywhere. The waiters were wearing traditional hungarian clothes. Prices were very good compared to Western standards. The breakfast was very good, solid, fresh and well made. Vegetables fresh and clean, meat tasty, bread good. Just missed butter for the bread. We left with a full stomach, content to move on to the Hortobagy national park. There is a nice playground outside for the children. We got two baby chairs right away, as soon as we asked for them. So if you are in the area and want to get out of the city, take the 33, 8km west and you will find it lying where the railroad tracks crosses the road. The menus were in Hungarian, English and German.More
About 8 km on the road No. 33 from Debrecen direction Hortobágy is a really good "Puszta Csárda". This is an in accordance with the style of traditional Hungarian village house reconstructed and furnished, from former farm buildings designed restaurant. The food is excellent, the...prices are not cheap, but reasonable. Which food is the best? It dipendes on you and your taste. I like very much the rumen tripe stew made from beef, the lamb stew, the spicy Hungarian fish soup named "halászlé" and the catfish stew with sour cream and cottage cheese enriched noodles. A bottle of dry red or white wine from a Hungarian winery is the best drink during and after eating these foods.More
