My boyfriend and I was searching for a buffet restaurant and chose this place based on the reviews on here. And we did not regret one second! This is the best meal and the best service in all of the places we’ve been so far in Budapest.
We chose the all-you-can-eat option, and tried both the pasta and pizza and everything was made freshly by the order.
When we first got there we were greeted by the lovely Timi who told us about the concept and took our order.
Also the price is so good. 3000 forint for both foods and unlimited drinks (beer, wine, soda etc.)
Overall great service and amazing food.

We knew we wanted an Italian on our last night in Budapest so looked on TA and found this gem!
On arrival the restaurant was well lit and looked warm and inviting!
The lady on arrival asked if we wanted A la Carte or all you can eat, after her explanation of what was included (pretty much everything including alcoholic drinks!) we opted for all we can eat.
For pizza, pasta and grilled meat it is all cooked fresh to order and delivered to your table.
Staff were attentive, friendly and funny with brilliant English!
Plates were cleared quickly, fresh cutlery arrived too.
Honestly couldn't fault it in any way!

Came here this evening with my partner, she ordered a duck pasta dish & I ordered a lasagne with a side of home made style potato fries. The food was fantastic, the decor and style of the restaurant is modern and welcoming. To top it off the staff are extremely friendly, brilliant end to our last evening here in Budapest! Would recommend!

The food is good, but why is all of the staff so unbelievably rude?
Both waitresses seemed annoyed to be serving our small table of two in the both occasions we went. I even checked myself to see if we were being inconvenient in any ways, but honestly some people just dislike their jobs I guess. Even when they were coming back to say that they didn't have some of the things we initially ordered they seemed annoyed! Could hardly get a smile out of anyone even when trying to be extra polite in face of so much rudeness. I don't get it.

We went off the good reviews and decided to eat here. We had bruscetta to start which was nice (but hard to get wrong). My husband had lasagne which was very dry and seemed like it had been baked hours before. I ordered the ape Regina pasta farfelle but as I'm dairy intolerant asked for no cheese. It arrived covered in cheese. The staff took it back to the kitchen and after 2/3 minutes another bowl of pasta arrived (too rushed maybe). Unfortunately it was not cooked, very hard and the chicken is not proper breast it is processed and rubbery. Sad to say very disappointing.

We came here on a Friday night. We eat from the a la carte menu and no doubt the place offers a lovely ambience, very good service and excellent menu choice. I was disappointed not to be able to order the chianti as they were out of stock but the Hungarian Kristinus recommended by the waiter, was nice to try and very drinkable and good value for a bottle in a restaurant.
My wife and I both had pizzas, I went for the chef special and my wife had the diavolo. Both were excellent in their own right, generous portion size and with the olive oil provided very enjoyable. If being ultra critical the crusts were a little dry and hard for my liking. The Gorgonzola in the chef special really comes through, if that is not to your likely I suggest selecting something else.
We also ordered a portion of french fries which were more like baked crisps and although well seasoned to inconsistent in texture for us.

Family and I had a wonderful evening and an excellent meal. The all you can eat dinner included pasta, pizza, grill items, wine, water, sodas, tea/coffee. Timi and Berci were fantastic servers. Highly recommend!

Excellent! For the equivalent of £20 they offer an all you can eat and drink (including wine and beers) - very good value for money. You can order fresh pasta and pizza to your table (one of the best pastas I’ve ever had). Lovely relaxed atmosphere inside. Our server Joci was brilliant - very friendly and attentive! If we visit Budapest again will 100% be returning!

Great atmosphere, amazing food (especially the freshly cooked pasta variations) and lovely servers.
Special thanks to Timi who went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. I've jokingly mentioned that's it's my birthday to make an excuse for a second glass of wine and about twenty minutes later Happy Birthday started playing and she came up to our table with a cup of tiramisu with a lit candle in it. Such a precious gesture, it totally made my day! :)

Ate at this restaurant for dinner on a weekend visit to Budapest. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and the staff are very welcoming. Waitress Barbi looked after us well, was polite, smiley and very accommodating. We ate off the menu instead of the Buffet and the food arrived quickly and was delicious. Was surprised by the low food bill, as food is well priced, so increasing the service charge was well deserved. Highly recommend.

We visited for the first evening of our trip to Budapest after reading a blog online recommending the restaurant. We could not believe the value for money in addition to the quality of the food. Even my salad starter was fresh and delicious and the wine was crisp and tasty. The pasta and pizza was freshly made to order and a taste sensation - the Alfredo is literally something I will think of when I’m sad and need cheering up!! Staff were so helpful and friendly and the wonderful lady on the front desk in the lovely pink jumper was SO lovely and helped us to book a taxi and arrive in time for our boat trip - thank you again!! (We made the trip!) thanks again and wish you guys all the best :)

We had heard about the Ape Regina restaurant when researching our trip and saw the positive reviews. We were a little concerned initially as it was very busy and they asked if we had a reservation (we didn’t), but they quickly accommodated a table for the five of us and made us feel welcome.
We had to ask about the format for ordering. You can choose from either the a la carte menu, or a ‘all you can eat’ option, for 10000 HUF. We decided to choose the a la carte option and had a mixture of pasta and pizza. We really enjoyed the food and the service from Geri was fantastic, he was very attentive to our needs, always available, and helped us with recommendations for the best options.

Very nice meal and drinks. We went for the buffet option which I thought was great value for money. The spaghetti carbonara was lovely and beer or wine is included in the price. Very attentive staff who are over straight away to offer another drink or take away plates. Would definitely return

My boyfriend and I first tried the a la carte menu and really liked the food and service there so we decided to have a go at the all you can eat lunch menu before we leave Budapest. The lunch menu is 8990 forint per person with a wide variety of food and drinks included. Pizza, pasta, grilled dishes, desserts, soup, appetisers and hot dishes etc The pizza, pasta and grilled dishes were all freshly made and served in small portions so we could taste differently kinds of food. It was really good value for money. The food was very delicious and the service was amazing too. The waiters (Barna and Geri) and the chefs were all very friendly and welcoming. The ambience of the restaurant was very lovely as well.

If you’re looking for an unlimited amount of tasty food and drinks this the place for you! I was very surprised by the quality and freshness of the food as well as the service. Our waiter Marci was especially attentive which made the experience so much better. Would definitely recommend this if you want to eat and drink a lot!
