This place is beautiful. Bring your camera and bring your fat wallet. Unfortunately, the service and food do not parallel the magnificent architecture. In fact, the servers were rude and the food was pedestrian, at best...and I was staying at the hotel!! I would never eat there again. No doubt, though, it is a very popular tourist destination.

This place really disappointed with expensive menu and limited choices. Better choices around. However it might be better for afternoon tea and is certainly worth a visit to see the building

This cafe is a massive place for breakfast and coffee. I really like the vanilla cappuccino and the fruit salad. I suggest it for an evening drink as well.

Way too expensive to what it offers. 1 hot tea, 1 hot lemonade and 1 new york chocolate cake for 25€ and the staff not friendly at all. However, the decorate is a must see.

Really astoundingly beautifully decorated cafe. While visiting, there was a piano being played. However, we had to queue for over half an hour in the bitter cold weather only to be squeezed into a small table. Overpriced, poor service, but worth seeing the decor.

It was cold in November and we had to wait in line for maybe 20 minutes before being seated. The tables were not fully occupied when we were seated. I'd say 30% of the tables were not taken. Maybe the kitchen can not deliver as much food if the whole tables were served. Nevertheless it was a pleasure to spend... More

One point for the place and another one for the hot chocolate, but thats it. The place is beautiful and you should go and see it for yourself at least once. You dont see place like this even in London. We had live classical music, a band playing my favorite song, it was wonderful but the staffs behavior was unacceptable.... More

Beautiful old building with great painting on the ceiling and architecture. You can also ask for the free postcard and they will post for you. Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

We walked for what seemed like ages to get here but man was it worth it. We had planned to leave visiting here till our last night in Budapest. On arrival we where in awe at the interior of the cafe, it's just beautiful and the perfect place for us to end our time in Hungary. We had the highest... More

This cafe has a beautiful ambience, you can hear the pianist playing away and the quiet chatter of those around you. overall, a must visit and really not that exspensive when you consider coffee shop costs back in the uk!

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
