I am a flight attendant working in one of the most famous airline in the world for over 10 years. I am totally convinced that this is probably one the best cafes that I have ever been around the world. This place looks absolutely stunning and high class. My girlfriend and I ordered the tea set for two with champagne... More

This restaurant is located in the Boscolo hotel and you should make a reservation to eat here even for lunch. The service is leisurely (slow) and the prices are high but it is located in a fabulous scenic hotel. The Hungarian goulash was the best I ever had and the portion was very big. No need to order anything else... More

Fine interior that, even if you just stop for coffee and cake, is worth the visit alone. We booked a table in advance for breakfast and we're given a fairly private but central spot.

What a unique atmosphere, the best of sight, sound and taste. Nothing can surpass the beautiful backgroubd decor, original, memorable and sparkling in the best of traditional taste. The music, both traditional orchestra and grand piano certainly created the mood changes needed to keep things moving and even more interesting, and the food choices and wines were delicious, and so well... This place had a classy look and is obviously very popular due to how it looks along with the live pianist and violins etc. To be perfectly honest though it just felt fake and pretentious to me. It's a nice place to go as a couple, but wouldn't rave about it.

Short line to get into busy New York cafe during the week for excellent Hungarian desserts and cappuccinos. Beautiful cafe with live music.

I've been to palaces that were impressive, but this is their equal architecturally. Service was good, food at breakfast was fairly good though the choice was marginally less than some other buffets. Unfortunately, hot food was warm and running out when I got to it; I'm sure it would have been replaced had I waited a bit. Price was high,... More

Recommended in Budapest top 10 guide and on the Hop on, hop off bus. This was amazing. A throw back to a more glamourous era. Gorgeous inside iin a totally OTT way. Expensive as you would expect but certainly worth a visit.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
