This place had been recommended as a must visit. We arrived around 5pm and there was no queue. We were shown to a table in a back room which was a bit of a disappointment as there were empty tables in the main areas. We...had Hungarian coffees which were good We had a look around at the amazing decoration but ere still disappointed at the room in which we sat.More

This is a fabulous place . We really enjoyed our time there . Made to feel very welcome in such a busy place . Prepare to queue if not pre booked but it moves along quickly. Enjoyed the food we had there .

Beautiful cafe, however poor service. Took a while for staff to take order. Food Came fairly prompt, however unable to order dessert as staff took too long. Then had to pay service charge for food and drink approx £15. What a cheek !!More

Okay, it's a beautiful café. But massively overpriced, mediocre food quality, and stuffed with influencers who only come for endless photo sessions made this an experience not to be repeated.

The 3* is purely for the location and the venue, that is all. Wouldn’t recommend going for food because it’s SO overpriced for what you get. The service is really shocking considering how much you pay. We paid €18 each for the New York eggs...Benedict and it was one egg, one rasher of bacon on half a muffin with some sauce and ‘chips’ on top - tasted nice but not worth the price. We ordered water which never arrived, and €9 for one cappuccino. There was a pianist and a violinist which was really lovely to listen to and watch. The tables and chairs aren’t of a good standard and really need replacing. We noticed that a lot of the places (restaurants / bars) we went to off of the recommendations from bloggers etc. really didn’t live up to the hype.More

It could well be the prettiest cafe I’ve ever been to. The food was lovely and the ambiance was great (piano and violin players) However it could well be the most pretentious cafe I’ve ever been too - the room was full of people taking...selfies and the staff were unattentive, rude and slow (except when it came to getting the bill paid). My advice would be to go in, see how exceptionally lovely it is and leave again. Unless rudeness is your kind of thing! Budapest is full of amazing cafes and restaurantsMore

Just visited one hour ago. I wish I had read the reviews before falling for the the queue hype. Waitress was rude. Expensive cakes arrived, no drinks ...waited 5 mins asked the waitress for the drinks to be told firmly that they would be a...further 5 mins. No apology.. had to ask for the bill. Waited ages. I complained about poor service. Still no apology. Food and drinks were excellent, but overpriced.More

Don’t listen to any travel blogs… it’s not worth it, or your money. We came here on our last day of our holiday and it was a waste of time. An incredibly underwhelming experience. One could justify the prices for the sake of going and...seeing the beautiful building, however the atmosphere was so chaotic. The staff were quite rude and considering the premium price they expect guests to pay I’d expect some decent service back. Be ready to jostle your way through lots of women instructing their Instagram boyfriends on which angle is best. Maybe bring some shoulder pads?? Don’t get me wrong, it’s always nice to have photos in pretty places, but this was a new extreme. I’d put a lot of money on saying no one was actually there for the food or drink, they (including my self) just wanted a photo. On a more positive note, for those who do want to photograph the stunning architecture in Budapest, I’d recommend the museum of fine arts next to hero’s square, it was a really relaxed atmosphere and 100% worth the admission fee (citizens of EU get 50% off, sorry Brits xx).More

had a terrible experience at this coffee shop. Not only is it outrageously expensive (12 euros for a cappuccino?!), but the service was incredibly slow. We had to wait in a long line, and once we finally got to the front, it took the waitstaff...20 minutes to even acknowledge us. It's clear that they don't have enough staff to handle the volume of customers. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place..More

Beautiful building service shocking. Service charge 15%, we asked for this to be removed as the service was terrible. Waiter constantly checking himself out in the mirror, picking his nose. Our mains were served before our drinks, we had to wait a good half an...hour before we were even acknowledged. The manager actually came over to us so he knew there was a problem, we did not request him to come over. He indicated to us the service was not great and they are trying to improve it however we we’re not allowed to leave the table without paying the service charge, the manager got quite aggressive with us. I pointed out what the waiter had been doing, the manager could then not understand what we were saying … There are plenty of other places in Budapest restaurant/ cafe wise I’d spend my money in there not here. Such a shame, the attitude of some of the staff was terrible actually quite arrogant!More
