Queued up with a friend for coffee and cake. Not a cheap place but definitely with doing it at least once for experience and for the atmosphere. Quite pricey and long queue depending on time. We queued for approximately 30 mins to get a table. Life music with violinist and pianist.

The decor is the best I've seen in a restaurant. It's like a fairy tale. Waiters seem to be professional but we waited a bit too long for some tea and beers. Liked the desert. Prices are high, as with any fancy restaurant.

A truly beautiful and stunning interior, decadence with charm. Staff most helpful and tentative despite being very busy. An excellent pianist, playing in the background followed by a live traditional trio. The hot chocolate was fabulous and the cakes/ice cream were simply delicious. A must cafe to visit if in Budapest.

A great experience. Absolutely beautiful architecture and pleasant atmosphere. Extra plus for the live music.

The venue really is an experience, but the cakes and sweets we ordered were pretty average, not what the atmosphere would make you expect. Coffee was nice though...

I have frequently visit this most opulent looking place for lunch whilst I am in Hungary. It is a most beautiful place with excellent service and delicious food choices. Sometimes there is a gypsy band is playing in the background which makes the lunch experience a bit special and memorable. I do recommend to anyone to try this place ----there... More

The place itself is amazing with decor that will keep you entertained for the time you spend there, but during our visit the service was incredibly slow. We had to ask for a menu twice and for pudding twice. We are definitely not a pushy couple, however an hours wait for ice cream was beyond patient. That being said, the... More

Really really worth it.!!! Very very very nice place! Good enough prices for coffee. Sweets worth it so much but you can not eat only one! We experienced a band with violins playing live music! So lucky to have this hungarian gypsy chance!

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
