Whilst "pizza & pasta" joints are ten a penny in most major cities around the world, it is rarely an easy task to a find a proper restaurant serving high-end Italian cuisine. Budapest is lucky to have Fausto's as it does exactly that. Alongside the...regular menu there are always a number of daily specials which are well worth trying. Of particular note are their filled pastas, all made entirely in house, and their rissottos - prepared a la minute of course - were superb too. If you want to enjoy proper Italian cuisine in Budapest then you won't find anywhere better than Fausto's.More

Super-smart place where we enjoyed traditional Hungarian duck and goose dishes as well as pasta - the ravioli was especially good. As with all fashionable Budapest restaurants, the wines seriously drive up the bill - most wines started around HUF9,000. Bill for four was HUF68,992...(A$340).More

The location is a just around the corner from Rákóczi út., historical building. The place is new, was absolutely clean at the time of visit. The service was perfect, english speaking. The food was above expectations, and the value for money was very good.

The key is understanding that there are two restaurants at this location. The restaurant and the osteria. The restaurant is fine dining, linen tableclothes etc. and is located inside. The menu is excellent as well as the food and is priced accordingly. The osteria, which...is outside, but also on one side of the premises inside is casual with a slightly different menu at a fraction of the cost. The key is - if you are eating at the restaurant, you can only order off of that menu! If you are eating at the osteria, you can order off of both!!! Key. as there were choices from both that we wanted. The service and wine selection was excellent. We enjoyed the special risotto and the fish of the day. The wine was an Alpha One from Tokaj. Definitely worth it. The staff was excellent as well. Very helpful with the selections, especially the wine.More

6 of us visited on a busy Saturday night. Really recommend booking because it’s so popular and fabulous food. You have two choices, on the right hand side fine dining, and on the left hand side a bistro. We were a table of 6 and...a late booking 9:30 pm. They gave us a table in a private room downstairs. The service and attention was exceptional. Can recommend the fish soup in the bistro. Great value as well for fabulous quality food, service, and surroundings.More

I have been a fan od fausto’s since he has opened his restaurant in Budapest, which was and still is the most serious Italian fine dining place in the city and in my view one of the top restaurants overall in the Budapest scene (do...not only follow Michelin stars...) This time, we had for starter a delicious combination of marinated steak and duck liver, as well as octopus carpaccio and scallops, and for maina one of the best prepared, top quality rib-eye steak with vegetables and a solid tagliatelle with lobster. This time we skipped desserts but will not next time as offering is tempting. Prices are at level for quality certainly but not over priced in comparison of other top restaurants in the city. For simpler (and cheaper) dishes same owner runs the Osteria in the same complex, also worth to try.More
