Szimpla Kert is the original ruin bar that started it all. The decor is really amazing; leave a few minutes to walk around and see all of the different rooms and art. We did not find the prices excessive and the bartender made a decent...More

This is where the ruin bar experience meets the night club experience. Multiple bars each with its own character and style. Expect a lot of noise, a lot of people, and high prices.

It’s an amazing bar and very unique experience but the prices are quite expensive for Budapest. Definitely go and walk around but be prepared to spend more money than elsewhere

What an eclectic run down establishment that in the evening must be a real hoot. However we were here for lunch after a tour of the nearby Great Synagogue. The decor of the place has to be seen to be imagined. Ranging from a pink...More

Such a fun bar at night, this is a must do for Budapest. Feels a lot like an outdoors Australia pub environment but the beauty Budapest makes this place a unique experience.

If you travel to see things you've never experienced before, put this on your list. So-called "ruin bars" have popped up in in empty-ish buildings in the Jewish Quarter in Budapest. Szimpla Kert, now housed in a stove factory and homes slated for demolition is...More

You are walking in this old neighborhood. You come up to a rather ordinary gate door. You walk in and it's like another world. Multiple bars and eating options. There are 2 levels. A live band. What an eclectic place. Even if you don't drink,...More

Wow wow wow! Szimpla Kert is a wonderful assault on the senses! We arrived at 9.30am for Sunday brunch. Amazing food (pastries, breads, fruit, yoghurt, sausages, cold cuts, salmon, salads, eggs, juices, teas & coffees). Amazing visuals! Everywhere you look is decorated in the most...More

District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses
the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and
colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in
an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes
and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic
crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of
the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in
Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly

I think food was available, but no idea what, or how it was priced. But there is a street food place called Karavn just up the road - its open air and has a bar and lots of different food stalls. So you could go there to... More

Szimpla Farm Shop under 7. Kazinczy street is open for you! We couldn't take it anymore that you can only buy these producer goods on Sundays, so we made the essence available for the weekdays too. Soups with meat and vegetarian, Mangalica hot dog, sandwiches from the best available materials from real producers. Cakes, cookies, strudels from sweet cheese, poppy seed, apple, all from Szimpla.
