The place is inside the market on the top level. Traditional meals in excellent way. Here you can get some basic ( I mean not fancy) simple dishes like Wiener snitzel but nowhere can get those better. Big portions, soft meal, great taste. As you...remember on mother's or grandma's dishes from childhood, even though in reality the quality of those was far behind this. The place has a "sibling restaurant" similar style, different menu, just a couple of steps away, still within the market, the Sef utcája (Street of the Chef).More

We thought this was in the main food market but were wrong! It looks similar in the pictures but there is more room here to sit down which is good. The schnitzel is HUGE so I’m very glad I shared one with my husband rather...than one each. Good value - nice and hot.More

The Buja Disznók canteen is located on the Hold street’s market. The schnitzels were massive and served with potato salad as the standard one. My friend and I shared one but still felt full!! Excellent value we would certainly visit it again!!More

We saw this place on our first day in Budapest but had already eaten. The food hall/market it is in has got loads of places to eat both upstairs and downstairs. There are toilets upstairs but be aware that it is coin operated to get...into them. There are seats upstairs but they do get busy and the areas are shared between all of the eating places. I’m not sure if there is any rule about sitting in other restaurants areas or not, we just took what we could find and weren’t questioned! The schnitzels are massive and served on a wooden board with potato salad as the standard one. You can add extra pickles, bread etc to go with it to. My husband and I shared one but still felt full and we usually have a very healthy appetite! You place your order and then wait for it to be cooked. There always seem to be a queue and the area to wait isn’t massive but be patient, it’s worth it. I was lucky enough to have a view into the kitchen with them preparing it. Excellent value and freshly cooked, crispy yet tender schnitzel and a nice creamy potato salad. We would certainly visit it again.More

I found this place on TripAdvisor and visit it twice ! I’m a big fan of schnitzel and this didn’t disappointed me. As you can see it’s huge portion, delicious and cheap. Potato salad on the side was the best I had in these countries...that they use to eat it, imagine i order one more.the place is small and it’s inside a market in the first floor. A big table that you can eat with other people. Careful they open 11 o’clock till 16.30.More

Huge wiener schnitzel made to order so it always arrives hot & fresh. The only tip I would give people coming here is to bring your own lemon, I always stop at the store and buy a whole lemon to bring with me to make...this lunch just a little bit tastier. Either wise its a very filling meal and quite the challenge to finish the entire piece of schnitzel.More
