Excellent food. Cosy inveroment a little piece of Italy in the middle of Budapest. The service is superb as well
Best Italian restaurant in Budapest. Pasta with black truffle is must try! Amazing starters, dolci, everything. I am fan of Italian food, so yeah this restaurant is the best choice for food lovers
Located on Mozsar u. between the Kolibri Theater and the Operetta Theater, this small easy-to-miss restaurant gave my wife and me a wonderful luncheon. The outside of Krizia is simply a doorway and short flight of steps down to the restaurant itself. However, once in...the restaurant, we realized we were in for a treat. The decor is simply and elegant. Surprisingly small (maybe 12 tables total), we were greeted by Pal, our host/server. We were given our choice of tables, all of which were nicely set with silver chargers, a full set of glasses, and flatware. Pal came to our table and presented us with the restaurant's menu. He also explained to us the seasonal menu (heavy on black truffles!), and the secial luncheon menu. We opted for the daily luncheon. My wife ordered the baked cannelloni as her appetizer and the eggplant baked with tomatoes and cheese as her entree. I opted for the vegetable soup as my starter and the sliced pork with mashed potatoes for my entree. She also ordered a glass of rose and I had a beer. The appetizers were brought 5 minutes later. The cannelloni was baked to a golden brown. She loved it. My vegetable soup was a surprise. I had never had a vegetable soup like this. Thick as porridge, it was a green puree. It looked like pea soup, but it had a richer flavor, I ate every mouthful! The entrees came about 10 minutes after our first dishes were removed. My wife's baked eggplant was a beautiful charred brown. The eggplant, soft and tender, was plentiful, and she thoroughly enjoyed as much as she could eat. My entree consisted of 4 slices of pork, probably 6 ounces in total, beautifully baked. The mashed potatoes were creamy and sauced with a gravy made from the pork. Another winner. (The portions here are large!). Dessert followed 10 minutes later (Our meals included appetizer, entree, and dessert for the set price of 2300HUF (about US$7.00) each. The dessert was the perfect ending to our meal, as we had eaten well and plenteously: mille feuilles. A rectangle 3 inches by 5 inches, and it could not have weighed 2 ounces! Light and crisp layers of delicate crisp pastry, incredibly thin, with a smear of slightly sweet creme patisserie near the bottom. We enjoyed it because it was delicious and light. Our bill was brought by Pal, and the total was 8100 HUF (US$24) for 2 full excellent lunches including dessert, 2 bottles of Soprani beer, a nice glass of rose wine, and a service charge. Pal was such a delight we left an addition 1000HUF. Wonderful food, a cozy and quiet atmosphere, and superior service, all at a bargain price! We will become regulars here! I will point out that most entrees on the regular menu are in the 3000-4000HUF price range, but some items run 9000 HUF+, as they are created with black truffles.More
I visited this cozy Italian restaurant twice during my stay in Budapest. The food was authentic Italian and absolutely stellar. The service was fantastic. I had major dental work done that week and the chef was happy to accommodate me by altering some menu items...slightly so it was easier to chew. The pricing was very fair for the quality of the food and dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Budapest.More
Excellent food, truly gourmet quality. We had good service. There are truffle dishes, also an excellent businessman's lunch during weekdays. These lunches are not large portions, but the quality makes up for it. For example, the excellent pana cota with glazed sugar on top. Only...Sorento matched it. As I am from New York, filled with great Italian eateries, I can vouch for the quality of this Italian fare. It certainly beats the larger, better known places that are considered good. Good is relative. Excellent stands out. In fact, since we also own a flat in Budapest, we've visited Krizia three times this summer season and are likely to go again.More
Disappointed with the staff, some of them have been quite rude, I am definitely not going to advice any of my friends/relatives to eat here.
We ate here in the evening on a business trip. Just a few minutes walk from Andrassy Street and the Oktogon. We enjoyed the food and good service.
Thank you for your review. Hope to see you soon again! Krizia Team
My husband and I are here last night and all the reviews where so right! The service was some of the best we have had here in Budapest and the food equally as good. The mushroom soup with puff pastry was the highlight for us!...Absolutely delicious. The herb risotto was as described and the fettuccine with porcini and prawns was also yummy. Beautiful little restaurant with great food and perfect service.More

I found this place close to my hotel and the choice was absolutely correct. The menu based on black truffles was delicious. Outside the touristic quarter near the beautiful street. Service was perfect

8 of us had a great dinner here. Ambience was great and restaurant catered for gluten free and veggie. Fish soup starter was immense and akin to a main dish. Mains were also very good including seafood spaghetti. Good selection of local wine. Puddings also...great and free limoncello to finish. All in all a lovely evening which was very reasonably priced.More
