My husband and I ate here at lunch time. The service was excellent. We were received immediately by the Maitre'd and shown to our table after it was determined that we wanted to sit in the sun. The surroundings were beautiful. The waiters courteous and were willing to give us advise. The food was excellent. A little bit on the... More

Visited here on our first night in Budapest We arrived fairly late and booked this restaurant as it was very close to where we were staying and offered steak which we thought would be an easy meal for our first night until we got our bearings It overlooks the euphemistically called 'lake' which is actually almost completely dry and in... I invited my friends here to have a dinner, with the nice view we did chat a lot. The food here was okay, fine lamp but not the top ones in Budapest, but the price here is very high, 30 Euro for each compared to others are too expense, even we didn't try the wine. Still , you can enjoy... More

During a long bike ride around the city we stopped in for lunch. We enjoyed the outdoor lakeside seating, the service and meal were great until we tried to pay... After we asked for the bill we waited a good 10 minutes, then asked again and were told it could only be brought to us by the head waiter. We... More

2 couples visiting Budapest for a few days, we were strolling across the bridge behind Hero's Square and noticed this restaurant in the park nearby a large fountain and visited for a late lunch. We each had a main meal and shared a bottle of white wine. The service was very good, food was excellent and the setting just perfect.... More

Had a horrible experience at this place with a horrible piece of tough meat with 70% of the meat being fat costing 11.000 HUF and some reheated potatoes where you could clearly taste it was reheated and on top of all that horrible service not being able to split the bill in 2 or even bother to ask us anything... We were not disappointed. we had the Tomahawk steak for 2. The meat was exceptional and the service very pleasant. It's nice to be served by people who love their job and are proud to be working there. I would not recommend it to people on a tight budget because it can be fustrating to contemplate such delicious food and... More

Excellent quality, though rather expensive if you are on a tight badget. Very relaxing by the lake near off the heroes sq. I had a super tasty and big burger (the "haut cusine" like) for ~18 euro (incl service) and definately would order it again. I think that - probably because of the location - besides the rather elevated orices,... More

The location is superb, by the lake in city park. We visited during a days strolling in the park just for a drink but the location was so good we decided to book for dinner, which I would recommend as it gets very busy. This is not the cheapest of places to eat but equally it is not expensive compared... More

The spot is outstanding so as the food and the service. My boyfriend loves the hamburger so much there that he always orders that one. :) I recommend the a salmon. The cocktails are well-prepared as well.

Description
Robinson restaurant opened in 1989 on the small island of gastronomy at Varosligeti Lake, a few minutes on foot from Heroes' Square (Hosok tere).

Over the past decades it earned popularity among the citizens of the capital as well as the expatriate community of Budapest.

Numerous great celebrities - Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Robert Redford, David Copperfield and Larry Hagman to name but a few - have tasted the delicacies prepared in the kitchen of the Robinson.

The environment of the restaurant is no less hospitable. The Museum of Fine Arts, the Budapest Zoological and Botanical Gardens, the Amusement Park of Budapest, the Great Circus and several other landmarks are located in Varosliget.

Mediterranean environment, homely atmosphere, live Latin guitar music and an excellent kitchen guarantee a memorable evening spent here.
