The bread! The pastries! The sandwiches! Even the bottled water is better than most. Definitely a place worth going out of your way for, whether you want bread with or without gluten. They also have yummy crispbreads that will make you never want to eat...packaged crispbread again.
On top of this, the service is terrific. They are all friendly, helpful and will actually go out of their way to find something in the back bakery if it is not on display for some reason and they think they might have it.
Anyone who likes bread or baked goods should visit. If you are staying in Budapest for more than a couple of days, you will want to return here.
It is not exactly cheap but the quality of the product is worth the price.More
Small bakery in the heart of the city run by a young and enthusiastic owner! Always crowded but when you try the pastries you immediately understand why there are some many customers! Absolutely brilliant staff and exceptional service! Jump in for a quick breakfast or...lunch! It’s a must have to visit place! I had a chance to enjoy the company of the owner who is a brilliant person! If a bakery can get a Michelin ⭐️ than this place definitely should have one!More
Walked in to a lovely smell of baking and found a nice table. Went up to the counter and had no clue what to order as everything was in Hungarian and the queue was big so the server was trying to get you through quick....Ended up getting a focaccia with lots of random things on it which I would’ve gone for something else if I knew what anything was but it was quite nice. In the window display they had cakes and pastries so I asked for the chocolate caking thinking it was a chocolate red velvet. When it came it was beetroot cake but there were no signs and the server hadn’t corrected me. It was not enjoyable and neither was the coffee that came quite cool. The hot chocolate was roasting and the coffee cake was delicious. Would’ve had a better time if I knew what I was ordering and I would’ve gone for the pastries as they just came out fresh.More
I saw the photo, read the reviews and off we went, sadly after seeing the picture I was set on smoked salmon but they didn't have any? They have a great little shop a couple of doors down where you can get porridge type meals...but there was nothing in this shop on the day we visited. That said, the staff were lovely, the bread is fantastic and well worth a visitMore
