Both of them were outstanding, top class cakes but the price is a bit over the top. 890ft for a (relatively small) slice of cake is restaurant prices, not that of a normal cake shop. I ordered two kilos of Flódni for Christmas. I called them today asking them to pack it into two separate packages. The lady at the shop said that they don’t do this and started asking questions like: Can you imagine how many orders we have?...Do you know that we only have two hands? Then I said: Yes, but I am the customer and this would be my wish. She said in an upset manner: you are very kind, we will do it if you insist. Then she hung up. Outrageous! Of course I cancelled the whole order. If they can’t handle the amount of orders and if they don’t know what hospitality is about, perhaps they should do something else. We visited Sütit Akarok in August during our trip to Budapest, and I couldn't be happier that we did: the cakes are simply amazing, the coffee is good and the girl who served us was very kind. Definitely recommended!
Sütit akarok is located outside the touristy downtown area which presumes that they go for high quality cakes in order to attract customers. Unfortunately this is not the case. We visited on a "special" weekend, all about different kinds of traditional hungarian doughnuts (+churros). Around...1pm on a Sunday the place was basically empty which should have been a sign but my love for doughnuts blinded my judgement. We tried the angel wings (csörögefánk) and churros. The angel wings weren't bad but weren't good either, the dough was simply too tough and dense but at least the jam it came with was good. The churros however had nothing to do with the real stuff. It was cooked hours ago, soggy, swimming in a cup of hot chocolate. Not the thick chocolate sauce you'd expect but a cocoa drink you'd get from a vending machine. Now about the prices. 4 small pieces of angel wings and 3 small churros cost 2,000 HUF. For that price you can go to the best patisseries in Bp and get 2 slices of delicious, high quality cakes. The only good thing was the staff, they were friendly and kind. I do not recommend eating here.More
At first we have been here 1.5 years ago, and we ate one of the best cheesecake in Budapest. Till now we try most of the flavors and seriously these are aaaawesome! Gerti made our wedding cakes, and four cheesecake for us, each of them...was amazing. Thanks a lot! :)More

Fantastic new wave cookies, but the classics are good too. Brutal sweets from quality raw materials. What I recommend: Klasszik brutál, the cheesecakes and the coffee.

We visited several times with friends, their selection is always changing, but always have something extraordinary.They do sometimes thematic weekends, like cheesecake, retro-cake, pancake, austrian hut weekend, which are a real fun, gastrologic excursions, with seriously good cakes. Real cosy, friendly and nice little place,...I would recommend for anyone.More
I just stopped by to buy a piece of chocolate cake. The place has a really nice style. The cakes seemed really delicious at the first attempt. I bought chocolate cake (which is sugar-, lactose- and glutenfree) and a piece of cherry pie. Chocolate cake...was simply amazing and the pie also!More
We live close by and just love this place. The selection of pastries keeps changing, so there is always a reason to drop by to try something new.. There is always a choice without sugar and flour, and the quality of all the pastries is...great. Over the weekend there are pastry courses and theme weekends. The place is friendly with a youthful atmosphere.More
We discovered Gerti's cake lover place one year ago. Since then, we stop by from time to time here. We ordered all the cakes to our wedding from Sütit akarok and all of our guests were totally happy with them - so were we, too...:) High quality cakes are made at Sütit akarok at fair prices and you won't get disappointed. I ate a cheesecake, and drank a latte. The latte was good but the cake wos wonderful. The service was a little slow but if you run go to the McDonald's :). The whole place was friendly and kind. The best thing was, when I...go out I was happy and satisfied. The least was the seat, it wasn't enough confortable for me.More
I have been there twice, there are always new cakes which are so rich and delicious! The place is cozy and pink (the best part!), worker girls are friendly. The only sad thing was that we wanted to drink hot chocolate too, but there wasn't.......:(More
