We ate here on the evening of 22/11 having made the reservation the day before and were delighted by the excellent meal and service we received. The cuisine really was first class and the waiters were knowledgable and attentive. We were happy to go with the recommendations of our waiter - pumpkin ravioli with goose liver as a starter, pig... Good quality, friendly and knowledgeable staff reasonable prices, laid back atmosphere. The city would need more places like Bock. The bizarre ice cream sortiment is a must!

After reading some reviews, thought this would be a place we would enjoy and it did not disappoint .. Our concierge made reservations and was happy we were able to get reservations, it can be rather difficult. We enjoyed our time at this restaurants, the wine we chose was delightful and the food was a more contemporary version of traditional... More

We had a great meal in the Bock Bisztro - I have been there previously when staying at the Corinthia, and this time I was staying by the river but still made the trip over. We reserved a table over e-mail which was very easy, and got a nice table in the centre. My only complaint would be the 'up-selling'... More

My boyfriend is a bit of a wine buff, so when we went to Budapest I made a reservation at the Bistro as a surprise to him for our anniversary. And what a lovely evening it was! He thoroughly enjoyed talking wines with the very knowledgable staff and we were introduced to some lovely traditional Hungarian cuisine that was all... More

Food was nice, but really not the best we had in Budapest. Not even close. Although, the desert was excellent. All in all, we got two dinners of 3 courses, and with bottle of wine it was 110 euros. Price that is to much for what we get.1000 and more places behind on this list, food was of much better... More

We booked the day before, but when we arrived the day after, it was clear that they hadn't really planned on us actually showing up. Service was brusque, and we were placed at a dingy table in the back near their service station. Two menus were thrust in front of us, and the waiter left. After a few minutes the... More

If you are visiting Budapest, your trip is incomplete without going to Bock Bistro! I had one of the best meals ever at this place - everything was to a perfect standard. There were lots of today's specials on the board in Hungarian, but the waiters explained everything so well in English. The service was amazing and the staff had... More

Was unable to get reservations on any of our three nights in Budapest but after a long day of touring and skipping lunch we stopped in on our way back to our Hotel and they were kind enough to get us a table since it was early for the dinner crowd.A fabulous bottle of red from their own winery and... Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
