I was meeting a friend for dinner in her home town - she asked what type food would I like - Moroccan, Italian? I was in Budapest, I wanted good Hungarian food and this is where she took me. It was terrific! Interesting take on traditional ingredients, all very good - a local fish, duck liver mousse, a creamy non-sweet dessert and excellent local wine white - all surprises. And to top it off, service quality matched the food.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner. The service staff very friendly, the wine selection surprisingly good and the most important thing: a great cuisine! The dishes were all very nicely served without superfluous ChiChi. The good basic products were clearly in the foreground and were not dominated by spices or herbs. Definitive Recommendation!

Elegant and refined venue, very kind and professional staff. The cuisine is a reinterpretation of Hungarian dishes, of quality and excellently presented. The ANGUS BEEF NECK and the desserts are exquisite. Excellent wines. Prices above the Budapest average, but well below an equivalent Italian gourmet restaurant. Recommended for a relaxing and romantic dinner.

We have driven past this restaurant hundreds of times so we finally decided to go. First of all they have barely any drink options. We asked about cocktails and they only had very basic ones (g&t, negroni and aperol spritz) asked for rose, they do not have rose on the menu at all. Only one type of bottled beer (no draft). We decided on limonades and they weren’t very good. The soups were very salty and we love salt but this was too much. The beet app was very strong. One in our party liked the liver pate. I would not recommend the salmon it was so bizarrely prepared and slimey. The pullet wasn’t anything special and the venison was just ok. The only thing we really liked was the walnut arany. The chocolate cake thing was dry and spicy. This place is pretty and the staff was friendly and helpful which is why it got 3 stars. It was severely understaffed and we had to wait a lot to order items or refills of drinks. Super disappointing restaurant.

The place is beautiful, the food is perfect, but the service was very poor. The restaurant was only 50% full, but it was too much for the chief waiter. We ordered two of the same courses, so zero complication. We had to wait quite long for the second, when it arrived it was not what we ordered. Nobody said sorry. We had to wait terribly long to get the food we orginally ordered. Nobody said sorry. The mixed up food was more expensive than what we ordered, so when the cheque came ... that was on it... Plus 30% for something we didn't order, and didn't have. They corrected it when we pointed out the mistake. Nobody said sorry...

If you are looking for a restaurant with gourmet cuisine, warm hospitality and great atmosphere this is the restaurant you are looking for. No unnecessary charades of explaining just enough information about the meals, beautiful presentation with perfectly delicious plates. Everything comes with some local inspiration but completely enjoyable for international palate. The service is impeccable but without heaviness. We, family of four ate several different dishes and all of them was flawless. The ambiance is warm, with timeless interior design, you will feel perfectly comfortable. This restaurant is perfect for romantic dinner, business lunch and for those who enjoy gourmet kitchen without attitude.

The food was simply really delicious with a unique taste. It was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to not just Budapest. The venison/deer steak was the best I ever had, simply delicious. The salmon was not what I expected, difficult to describe but nonetheless awesome. Plum soup was also super good. I think worth the price overall.

Amazing experience on New Years Eve, the best dinner we had during a week in Budapest. The special set menu was great and included traditional Hungarian options too. Live Music. Wine is from their own Vineyard! Staff were very attentive and timely. The evening was topped off by the owner, who was coming round to each table to ensure a good meal, offer a nightcap and say farewell (may have been a NYE treat). Overall I would highly recommend if you like fine dining.

Recommended by a friend. From when we arrived, through ordering and throughout the meal, we were looked after in the best way. We had the tasting menu(trout, scallops, caviar with milk ice cream, quail, venison and the most gorgeous dessert) and the wines were great. Really enjoyed the wine from the restaurants own winery. It made for a great experience.

3 times we asked the staff to turn the music down so we could talk to each other. From my point of view, the food and company should be at the center of such an occasion like this and the high volume continuously disrupted our conversations. The food was absolutely wonderful, but the experience was a bit disturb by the music.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. It was recommended by the concierge at the Intercontinental and we can’t thank him enough for suggesting it. We were seated and served by Dora. She was delightful. The food, wine, service and atmosphere were first class. It is a beautiful place to have dinner. I highly highly recommend a visit if you are ever in Budapest.

St. Andrea is an amazing restaurant! I had a great experience, the food was great! I ate "szarvas gerinc" the meat was cooked to perfection and was one of the highlights of my evening. The service was phenomenal and really made the night feel special. The head chef came out and asked us how we were enjoying the food which showed how considerate and on point the foods quality is to the guests. The wine pairing was perfectly paired with the foods given to us with the sommelier explaining the wine to us in great detail! Overall and amazing restaurant to go to when in Hungary!

Wonderful food, experimental but still delicious. Our waiter was also were good at explaining their wines wich was their own. All in all a great experience. However you should love sweets, most of their dishes had a very sweet flavor to it.

Feel like home; Enjoy excellent, but relaxed service in world class; Open, cosy athmospheare in the restaurant. Except lack of a bread collection, this restaurant is definitely qualified for a Michelin star. My English vocabolar is unfortunately, to capable of describting the level of the food. My highest recommendations !

We had a memorable dinner at St. Andrea! Our server was amazing and made the whole experience amazing. He was so knowledgeable about local wines and answered all our questions, going above and beyond to bring out wine glasses to satisfy my curiosity. He was genuinely interested in our experience at the restaurant and Budapest. The food was outstanding. Each dish was memorable and an immediate fav. Ambience was perfect for a dinner for two.

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
