We went there because of the good rating and recommendations. Was rather disappointing. Saturday evening almost empty. Food was nothing special. No wow feeling and it was very cold in the restaurant, seems like no heating. The wine and dessert was good.

The warm up drinks time before heading off to celebrate our granddaughters 21st birthday. Pre booked a lovely table and so glad that the weather was kind enough to give us a great view of Budapest at night from such a high vantage point. Lovely...relaxed atmosphere. not unreasonable champagne prices, lovely olives and Padron pepper snacks and an n ice cocktail menu as well. Great start to the evening!More

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. It was recommended by the concierge at the Intercontinental and we can’t thank him enough for suggesting it. We were seated and served by Dora. She was delightful. The food, wine, service and atmosphere were first...class. It is a beautiful place to have dinner. I highly highly recommend a visit if you are ever in Budapest.More

Feel like home; Enjoy excellent, but relaxed service in world class; Open, cosy athmospheare in the restaurant. Except lack of a bread collection, this restaurant is definitely qualified for a Michelin star. My English vocabolar is unfortunately, to capable of describting the level of the...food. I can highly recommend this excellent restaurant with its very nice ambience and mouthwatering menu. Impeccable and knowledgeable service and very nice staff. I came to this place actually to join a group of six Internations members for a dinner event. It turned out that...the event had been cancelled by the Internations organiser a few days before and I had unfortunately overlooked the cancellation message. What a mishap! :-( The waitress Dora felt so sorry for me that she kindly offered me a free drink for consolation. What a nice and heartwarming experience that was at St. Andrea restaurant.More

Tasting menu of the highest class all way through. We have tried a lot of tasting menues around the globe. It is seldom, if ever, that all the dishes are great. This changed yesterday when we hade a 6 courses menu with wine pairing. Excellent!...Favourite? Quail - amazing! Or what about caviar with icecream? Works marvellously. So in short, do not miss it. I do not need to comment on the wine pairing, they have a great knowledge about wine and mix hungerial and european wines as experts. Service highest class too. I give the place and the dinner in whole 5 stars and en extra roseMore

Recommended by a friend. From when we arrived, through ordering and throughout the meal, we were looked after in the best way. We had the tasting menu(trout, scallops, caviar with milk ice cream, quail, venison and the most gorgeous dessert) and the wines were great....Really enjoyed the wine from the restaurants own winery. It made for a great experience.More

We have driven past this restaurant hundreds of times so we finally decided to go. First of all they have barely any drink options. We asked about cocktails and they only had very basic ones (g&t, negroni and aperol spritz) asked for rose, they do...not have rose on the menu at all. Only one type of bottled beer (no draft). We decided on limonades and they weren’t very good. The soups were very salty and we love salt but this was too much. The beet app was very strong. One in our party liked the liver pate. I would not recommend the salmon it was so bizarrely prepared and slimey. The pullet wasn’t anything special and the venison was just ok. The only thing we really liked was the walnut arany. The chocolate cake thing was dry and spicy. This place is pretty and the staff was friendly and helpful which is why it got 3 stars. It was severely understaffed and we had to wait a lot to order items or refills of drinks. Super disappointing restaurant.More

The food was simply really delicious with a unique taste. It was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to not just Budapest. The venison/deer steak was the best I ever had, simply delicious. The salmon was not what I expected, difficult to...describe but nonetheless awesome. Plum soup was also super good. I think worth the price overall.More

I am writing this review for the dinner I had with family members on the evening of Tuesday August 30th. I would have normally given a solid 4/5 (because food and wine were of excellent quality), had it not been the outrageously fast paced table...service we had, which is definitely not a feature for a Michelin starred restaurant. I regularly attend Michelin starred restaurants (including in Budapest). It is with great unease that I have attribute a 2/5 as a review for this gastronomic experience as whole at St Andrea. We all expected it to be outstanding and unique, the quality of table service and its constancy being one of the criteria of Michelin starred restaurants. In details, this is what table members had to say about the service : - Description of meal and wines were rushed with minimal enthusiasm; - Wines served throughout the 6 services Grand Superior menu were not offered to taste by the waiters (only when I asked an extra glass of red wine); - Next service arrived before we even were able to finish the wine : I was still drinking my red wine when the pre-dessert arrived… beforehand, I did warn the waiters - politely - to wait until we all finish our wine before the next service. My instruction was observed only after I have spoken with the manager. In a nutshell, it was difficult to enjoy the beauty of the food when everything is rushed, which is a shame for a a restaurant of this standard. Last but not least, I would have given a 3/5 until when my table members informed me that other tables received a different treatment… Hence, all these reasons explain the 2/5 note I have left for the St Andrea experience in Budapest.More

If you are looking for a restaurant with gourmet cuisine, warm hospitality and great atmosphere this is the restaurant you are looking for. No unnecessary charades of explaining just enough information about the meals, beautiful presentation with perfectly delicious plates. Everything comes with some local...inspiration but completely enjoyable for international palate. The service is impeccable but without heaviness. We, family of four ate several different dishes and all of them was flawless. The ambiance is warm, with timeless interior design, you will feel perfectly comfortable. This restaurant is perfect for romantic dinner, business lunch and for those who enjoy gourmet kitchen without attitude.More

No, it is not a very formal though a rather stylish place. Even jeans will do, but I would not be comfortable with open sandals or that kind of stuff in the summer. But now it winter anyway.

If they don't ship outside Europe (and I think they do), let me know and I could buy it for you and send it. But first ask them by mail. A lot easier.
