I visited the resturant in January 2015, after initial reservations after a 10 minute wait to take our order we decided to give the staff a chance and decided stay. We were hopeful our main course would change our mind but we were sadly disappointed. I order the spicy chicken with blue cheese sauce which arrived with no salad and... More

We first ate here with our Fungarian teacher. We also went back for dinner the following night. The food is typical Hungarian. All our meals were cooked well, very tasty and large serving size. The porkult with noodles was excellent. The service is very friendly and accommodating. They speak good English. The prices are quite reasonable.

This is a nice cozy place. The staff are helpful and the portions are not huge so it was just nice for us. If you are craving comfort food, this is the place for you. The meat filled crepe with paprika sauce was surprisingly delicious, the goulash was nice and thick without being too overpowering and the gipsy pork dish... More

We ate here with five persons. The main course was nice and the staff helpfull. Maybe a little too helpfull, there weren't a lot of visitors so a lot of attention of the staff. The menu showed about 6 or 7 deserts, but only 2 of them were available. Unfortunately, in the night and day after our visit two people... More

Our first night in Budapest and I just wanted a taste of the culture. Happened across this restaurant after looking at the menu of one of the higher rated venues, but found that one lacking in selection. Not so with Bohemtanya! The waiters could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The food was delicious and at great prices. Recommend... More

This restaurant can only cook Hungarian food, so if you order fish soup, goulash soup or bean soup, beef or pork perkelt you will not be disappointed. I ordered the beef in red wine and it was disgusting food !!! Cook wanted to alleviate some acidity of wine and sweeten it terribly. Something so terrible, I've never eaten !!! I... More

On our first night in Budapest, we stumbled into this charming, neighborhood restaurant in one of the alleys near the Opera. It turned out to be quite a night for us. The food is very local and well prepared. The service is superb. We were seated at a table next to this huge window which opens right up to the... More

The venue for our first dinner in Budapest so - of course - we had to opt for goulash! The chicken version was lovely, the beef tasty if a little toothsome. The waitress was very friendly but keen to upsell and so we found ourselves armed with cherry brandy by way of an aperitif which certainly took the edge off... More
