I have been there after lock down in May,2021 and was amazed with the service and attention of waiters. It was a really pleasant evening. I decided to go there with my husband tonight to just have a couple of wine. We waited 10 minutes...after sitting down to get attention. Ordered 2 glasses of wine however waiter came back as they are out of stock and advised another. Accepted the offer, it was another famous Hungarian wine so no issues. However after my experience in May, when comparing, it was a failure. You can easily see that place has became a tourist trap, try to sell anything expensive. Some waiters are more into chat with women customers than serving. It lost its classy look already. Hope they will understand the difference with foreigners living in Budapest and tourists and change their attitude.More

We visited Cafe Vian tonight for the first time since the Covid restrictions have been lifted. I am an infrequent lover of black mussels (I know that they are all black!). If I am travelling to Brugge I know it is what I am going...to order, days in advance. But here in Budapest they don't make an appearance too often. But... they are always on the menu at Cafe Vian. The mussels tonight were in a white wine, creamy, onion sauce and were delicious!! Perfectly cooked mussels that were a delight but the outstanding star of the show, was the sauce! They should can it and sell it at the famous Budapest Great Market Hall (Nagycsarnok). Congratulations to the chef. My girlfriend had clilli lemon chicken with parmesan mash potato which was also delicious with enough spice to know the you had ordered a chilli dish. Quite informal dining and nice to enjoy a couple of drinks into the late evening without being rushed away. Top marks, all round!More

We visited the restaurant on Sunday night. We found easily open table but we had to wait ages for someone to come in our table so we can order. After we are waiting more ages, we had been served. The food was good but the...staff very unfriendly and rude.More

Large terrace restaurant under the shady trees of quiet, pedestrian Liszt Ferenc tér (there’s also a less charming interior). We enjoyed our salmon with horseradish, schnitzel, tarragon chicken, Hungarian Sauvignon Blanc, beer and coffee, which came to HUF 23,760 (about A$115) for four. Excellent service.

A lokal restaurant with Hungarian dishes such as Duck and Goose liver. Very good food and excellent service. Take the Duck breast with ratatouille! A great place for lunch or dinner with family.

I must say that we were very happy to dine here as the food was excellent and the customer service was brilliant. As we walked into the restaurant 5 waiters and waitresses said hello which was very welcoming. The manager lead us to our table....We ordered beef goulash soup, fruit soup and a spicy pasta dish. The food was so nice and must say the best in Budapest so far and I’ve been going to many restaurants over here since 2013. The service was great, which also made us very happy. Will definitely be back again. Highly recommended.More

Nice cafe in green space in the middle of Budapest. I appreciated the shade. The food was good. However, the manager waited on us and he was awesome. He brought samples of wine until we found one we liked. He gave us some great information...on Hungarian wine. He was very attentive and friendly. Great representation of your city. Thank you!More

Great place, great food. Non pushy when they first offered us the menu outside, and great staff when you do go in. Very relaxed and they work to your pace. 100% coming back
