We stopped here one morning for a quick breakfast: just coffee and crepes. The Black cherry crepe filling/topping was very good, as was the coffee. I can’t say the service was anything but efficient. Not really very friendly.
We ate the "salty pancakes" and they were very bad, they were made in microwaves placed just behind the counter, the cheese was not melted and they were still cold in the middle
After several years it was time to revisit this place and go for Megyés Mákos palacsinta. Like always, the taste was great and prepared by friendly stuff. (Don’t be scared that it’s warmed in a micro - they are pre-baked already and just filled in...time) I recommend to sit upstairs with the big front window facing towards the Parlament (best to be seen in winter season when there is no leave on the trees).More
We have a universal truth here in Hungary: these pancakes are best when made fresh, there's no argument about that. This is definitely not fresh, and I gotta admit a huge disappointment, because the prices suggest it is. For these prices they definitely shouldn't take...them out of a ziploc bag, I have no idea for how long were they in there. Judging from the state of the crepes, it's more like the opening line from Star Wars : "Long long time ago"... When you make them fresh, they are light and fluffy, The ones I had were definitely none of that. The only bright side was the filling, especially the poppy cream which is pretty amazing, but the crepes themselves are a total letdown. On the bright side, the layered crepes are awesome, but the dish is served differently than regular palacsinta, so it doesn't have to be freshly made. But this is the only positive thing about this place. I most likely won't be back anytime soon, and if friends from abroad would wanna eat palacsinta, I'd definitely send them somewhere else to do so. Not worth it, overall rating is 2 only because of the layered crepes. Otherwise it would be a sure 1...More
This is really nice place for Hungarian crepes. There is very good selection of sweet and salty ones. Service was quick. Food and coffee were really good at very reasonable prices.
A good place for a quick eating. Staff is very kind. Quality coffee for a fair price. We spent an hour there with friends, finally.
Unfortunately, my husband and I decided to eat here spontaneously and my husband being native Hungarian was quite annoyed with the quality of both food and service which is not customary. Having had many Hungarian “Palacsinta” this was absolutely terrible and definitely not Hungarian standard....Best to find a real mom and pop place with quality food not microwavable slop.More
I ordered a ham and eggs as breakfast. I saw the preparation: there was not real eggs, but some kind of yellow liquid, the toast bread was not fresh. The furniture is outdated, needs some refurbishment.
The people who work in this place treat customers really harshly. Turists don’t deserve to be treated that way. They are not doing you any favour and they should be polite at all times and respect their costumers. The creps are not homemade and are...really basic. Definitely not worth it.More
Stopped in Friday afternoon after a long day of travel. Menu is extensive. Several good options for vegetarians. You do order at the counter but the food is prepared quickly and as ordered. Lots of sweet but also savory crepe options. Close to the grocery...store too.More
Whenever I am in the neighborhood, I stop by here for some crepes. I order a basic cocoa one. It's absolutely perfect. I don't know if I'd come here for a sit-down meal, but for grabbing some crepes standing up, it's a great place.
Another of our Budapest essentials. Sour cherry pancakes at this establishment overlooking the Parliament and Danube. Slightly disappointed this time as the pancakes weren’t as hot as we’d have liked, but delicious nonetheless. The building is a little bit tired but it’s still a great...place to visit.More
We went here for a lunch and were rather dissapointed. Everything was pre-made and just heated in a microwave. It’s true they have large variety of pancakes that are cheap, but they were pretty cold and the taste was average. Don’t order the baked potatoes...they have on the menu, they were just a mess. Made probably few days ago, heated in the microwave with cheese... But the tea was good!More
Huge variety of salty and sweet pancakes. Good for meals and deserts. Try ‘em all! You can pay both cash and credit card.
