The waitress was extremely kind and friendly, she even managed to change my cocktail a bit in order to make it the best for my taste. We ordered fish and chips and chickenburger, both of them were fresh and tasty. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, for a complete dinner or for just a drink!

Very simple but nice pub. Particular location, always full of people. The staff is friendly and speaks English reasonably well. The prices are low and the food very good.
The 1l (one liter) beer costs only €5.
We got the burgers which were very filling and really good. One had the goulash which was mediocre in flavor and quantity. The music was really enjoyable and tasteful.
It's very good to spend a quiet evening!

We noticed this bar in the taxi on the way to our hotel. It was getting late and it was cold so we decided to dump our bags at the hotel and walk the short distance here.
The staff greeted us enthusiasticly and spoke brilliant English. We both got pizzas and I must say they were brilliant. The choice of gins and the Bombardier English Ale at good prices was definitely a plus and we came back on other occasions.
The only reason it wasn't a five star was the journey downstairs to the toilets. A recommended bar though

We ordered 2 pints of Hunters lager which must be a home brew as I had not seen it in any other parts of the city. One pint smelt awful like they’d not cleaned the pipes for ages. Questioned the bar staff for a new one and they did after disagreeing with me on whether it smelt off. We unfortunately stumbled upon another pub in their chain and popped in solely because I needed to use the toilet. Against our judgement we gave them the benefit of the doubt and stayed for a drink. Tried the Hunters again because it was on the happy hour special, once again it smelt awful. Not sure if it’s the beer or the poor upkeep of the lines that’s the issue, or both. Also the access to the toilets in the second pub was a flight of around 30 steps with dark carpet and very minimal lighting. A great idea! Especially after a few drinks. Maybe we were just unlucky the two times we visited their pubs. But definitely wouldn’t recommend.

We found this bar on our arrival and were made to feel welcome from when we first stepped through the door by Atilla (the boss) We returned 4 times during our short stay and had drinks and a meal. All the staff were great. We got to know all the staff and never felt uncomfortable at any stage. They went out of their way to make sure we had a table for dinner even though they were busy. Thank you Atilla, Adelle, Norbert, Adan Zoltan and Alexandra. You added the extra we needed to enjoy our holiday we will definitely be back.

This has been our fourth visit to Budapest, three of them staying at the hotel opposite the pointer pub. Our past experience of the pub as always been very good, staff so friendly and chatty with a lively atmosphere. This visit I have to say was almost as good apart from one gentleman who’s manner was totally surly and rude, never had a smile on his face and I overheard another customer as they were leaving they would not be returning as this young man had upset them by being offensive by his manner. I later found out this was the manager.

Had already visited another Pointer pub. Didn’t realise there was another until finding this one! Had been to the one on Vaci Utca which is quite a bit bigger.
Drinks are priced the same. Good atmosphere. Only giving 3 stars due to the lack of toilet paper in the ladies toilet

This is basically an Irish pub in the middle of Budapest. My husband and I came in for a few beers because it was across from our hotel. The bartender had an Irish accent and everything. The beer and service we had was good.

The drinks are great. We had draft beer. The food was not impressive. We had a pizza and an appetizer. Both were mediocre. My recommendation is to stop for a drink and then move on to another restaurant to eat.

After getting a little annoyed by bar service in ruin bars we headed home... and found Pointers Pub on the way back. We'd probably have walked straight past any other time but really wanted one last drink and gave it a go.
It was one of the best drink venues we visited. It's feel like an English pub, with traditional bar, pub tables & chairs and random "junk" plastered on the walls - we felt at home.
The service was really good - it was the only venue we visited that evening where every member of staff greeted us. Prices are reasonable - can't comment on food standard but can tell any Englishmen craving a shepherds pie that it features on the menu here.
For reasonably priced drinks and great service pop-in to Pointers.

We found this pub by chance, and were we lucky! All the restaurants on the shopping strip in Budapest are pretty much-overpriced tourist traps. This place was only a stone's throw away from the main shopping strip, and was absolutely magnificent! Our server, Iby, was just fantastic. Our meals were so delicious...we tried the local "Paprika Chicken", which was served with some of the best homemade pasta. When we asked about the dish, our server explained exactly how the chef prepared it and even described how lengthy the process was. I highly recommend this pub if visiting Budapest!!! Skip the touristy restaurants, and go a more local feel with the most delectable menu choices!!! There's a great casual vibe and the staff is just remarkable and fabulous!!!
