The best food, drinks and staff! We always feel welcome when we come for breakfast/lunch when we're in Budapest. Highly recommended.

We were on holiday for 4 days, and have tried this place randomly to have breakfast on our first morning. We were so satisfied that every morning after we came to the same place to have breakfast. Extremely kind and professional service. We tried different...kinds of sweet breakfast (pancakes, waffles, granola bowls) or savoury (toasts, English breakfasts). We’ve been served very large portions for their honest price. The food was exceptional. We highly recommend!More

Best Huevos Rancheros I've ever had. Eggs perfect. Other ingredients freshly made - guac, beans, pulled pork, even the pita was warm. Friendly, helpful staff. Just go.

Phenomenal brunch! Food was incredible, (pulled pork Benedict and huevos rancheros) the eggs were beautifully cooked and the flavours of everything else was outstanding. The drinks (Cirkusz iced tea and strawberry lemonade) were delicious. The waiters were friendly and helpful. My only issue was there...was a lot of fruit flies around in the restaurant by the end of the meal which wasn’t entirely pleasant but everything else was great.More

We arrived to a large queue outside the front door which is always a good sign. The host was welcoming and we were seated fairly quickly. The food coming out of the kitchen looked somewhat Michelin style - its presentation was phenomenal. I had the...strawberry lemonade which was such a light, refreshing and stunning drink. Our food was reasonably quick to come and upon my first mouthful I was just blown away. I had the beetroot with avocado dish and I would highly recommend. It was just an unreal breakfast and I am so glad we waited! Get yourself here if visiting Budapest!More

Very good brunch and friendly staff. A bit of a wait as it was a very popular spot and many tourists, this made it a bit loud inside but it didn’t ruin the experience

This place is fantastic! It’s always a treat visiting Cirkusz! The food is so delicious and so are the drinks, especially the coffee. Staff is also delightful. I don’t love having to queue up to get into a restaurant but in this place I don’t...mind because it’s so worth it!More

I love the quirky ambiance. I have jasmine tea and a sourdough sandwich with beetroot hummus and avocado. It’s pink and green - and absolutely delicious. The prices are reasonable. I will definitely return.

Busy, dynamic brunch spot. Many options, everything fresh and homemade. We shared fries, to begin with, and they were some of the best fries we have had in a while. Many drink options. Everything we had was delicious, and the kitchen was able to modify...for vegetarians. Come with an appetite- the portions were generous. The avo toast with beetroot hummus was a star. Such friendly and professional service, even though they were so busy.More

We had breakfast at Cirkusz two days in a row during our stay in Budapest (family of 5) and we couldn't imagine better place. From the variety of selection to amazing coffee, great service and cozy atmpsphere. Highly recommended!

Agree with a lot of the reviews above that if you’re someone who wants to take pictures for instagram then this is the place but if you someone who actually knows good food… this is not it! The coffee was pretty disappointing/mediocre. I had the...avocado on toast with smoked salmon. It was OK but the flavour was a bit strange and you could tell the smoke salmon wasn’t good quality by the flavour and how it was brown/grey at the edges. My partner had the bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Yet again a bit mediocre and he couldn’t even eat it as the cheese had a weird twang to it, a little bit like it had been left out too long. The most appalling thing was the service. When the waiter came to check on us we explained that the coffee and the bagel were unsatisfactory and we couldn’t eat it, he just looked at us strangely and said ‘ok’ and walked away. Disappointing to say the least after queuing for half an hour. The owner may argue all the complaints on here but maybe think twice about his attitude toward customer satisfaction and maybe how that reflects in the food.More

I Heard how good this place was so knew there may be a queue. Waited around 15 minutes for a table on a Tuesday at 11am. Was handed a menu whilst waiting and there was a comfy sofa to chill on. It was great as...it was near the kitchen so you could scope out the food which I love to do before ordering. All looked so nice and fresh. We were seated and got great service. We had very big eyes for our bellies! I got the Eggs Royal and my partner got the Recovery Breakfast, all the hot food, with salad, coffee, juice and a croissant. We also did cocktails, mimosa, espresso martini and another I can’t remember the name of but very delicious. Everything was amazing in this place, great value for money. I was gutted I went to New York Cafe the next day and it had nothing on this place, and was a lot more expensive.More

This place is extremely overrated, queued 40 mins to get in because of the over hyped reviews online, if you want to take a photo of a pancake stack for insta then this place is for you but if you care about actual good tasting...quality food then it’s best to avoid, the ‘English’ breakfast was far from English, egg was fried so much the bottom was crunchy, the bacon tasted like a pork scratching, literally fried to within an inch of its life, no butter with toast, hash browns were more like potato cakes, the staff were very nice and the service was good but the food was just not satisfying, they also only have one single toilet so after queuing 40 mins to get in you have to queue again to use the bathroom, wouldn’t recommend.More
