Spoon was my favourite restaurant for a long time (I used to visit it often), but I didnt visit it for a year. A couple of days ago I was happy to visit it again with a possible new guest for the restaurant. But the...experience was outrageus and rude. I am sure I will stay away from this restaurant in the future. Arriving on the boat we asked a waiter for a nice table to sit and eat. The waiter (the best description of him is the handsome tall guy [I didnt ask his name]) rudely throw us a short ‘there is no seat by the Danube) answer, immediately TURNED HIS BACK to us and WALKED AWAY without waiting our reaction or anything to say. We was so suprised we thought he wanted us to follow him to try to find a solution, but instead he went straight to a table to ask an order. We were left behind like dogs or idiots. When we walked away he didnt even apologise us. I have never ever experienced such a rude behaviour in any type of restaurant or a guesthouse, or name anything where you can buy food. So I am avoiding this place, and for sure I am never going to call it ‘my favourite restaurant’ ever again.More

The restaurant on the boat looked appealing and elegant turned out, it was just an illusion. The salad I ordered was unwashed (as the dirty root was still attached to the lettuce) The lemonade that on the menu was labelled as 0,5l came in a...0,3l glass, when we noticed the waitress about this no efforts were made to rectify this mistake. When the bill came, the waitress announced that there is a 12% service fee added to the bill (which was not obviously specified on the menu). As if this was not enough disappointment, I got really sick after eating there (this was the only food I had that day) and spent the night with a stomach ache. I can definitely not recommend this restaurant due to it’s poor quality and dishonesty.More

There were almost no one there, music was a few years old and there was no vibe. We found out all the cool kids now hang out at the Ferris wheel park and this Spoon is for tourists but with COVID it was not so...fun.More

We had past the boat on our sight seeing in the city and with good reviews decided to go here for my b'day meal. Not mega busy but it was a Monday evening but still enough people eating for it to have some atmosphere. All...the food dishes that we ordered (only 2 starters) 4 mains and one desert were all very well presented (see my pictures of the ones loaded) and the food was very tasty. Although not the cheapest place in Budapest (we knew this) it felt like good value for the quality of the food and service that we received. menu's attached so you can judge for yourself. nice to sit on the Danube having a lovely evening meal with great scenery.More

Beware the setting. This restaurant does not live up to its high dining label. The staff were austere, stand offish. The cold starters were lovely but obviously made well in advance. The main course was extremely poor. The duck over cooked and hard. Complaining was...met with scepticism and surprise. This restaurant compares poorly to the Parisian Udvar. Both highly expensive but the latter very well worth the visit.More

Visited here today so looking forward to this as the reviews were so good. My husband and I had two delicious starters. Then on to the main course I ordered duck which I was told would come medium. The first attempt came very slightly pink...mainly overdone so I sent it back. The second attempt came completely brown it obviously had been redone in microwave as part of the meal I had tried was still there. Sent this back and after 50 minute wait during which time my husband had eaten his main meal mine arrived. Yes it was good but our whole experience was ruined. When bill came there was no reduction due to their problems when discussed with the manager they said well you did eat the duck and we had to waste one !!! Expensive meal completely ruin don’t go is all I can sayMore

I attended an official dinner at Spoon. It was a set menu activity but quite enjoyable. The Restaurant is on a large boat on Danube promenade, situated right across the road at 1 minute walk from Intercontinental Budapest where I was staying. Its convenient if...you are staying in District 5. We were served Quinoa starter followed by Meat main Course and Baklava with Ice cream Dessert. Everything was above average. The staff attitude at the restaurant is positive too but the real winner is the view of Danube which is magical. As I didn't order Al a Carte, I cannot comment how extensive their menu is or about the price but I can say its a place worth giving a shot, at least for the view.More

Fine dining with a perfect view to the the Buda castle and the Chain Bridge. The professional service and the exciting dishes nicely prepared make you wanna stay longer and also return I guess. The price tag is pretty big though. All in all, we...enjoyed it very much.More

Very luxurious surroundings. Good river view from side tables. Menu small but inviting. Hungarian dishes. Beautifully presented food, prices not unreasonable. Terrace area outside on the river for drinks. Good location.More

It was not any more expensive than any higher quality restaurant. I think you will feel that it reflects good value for money.
