They are definitely not ready to accommodate crowded groups more than 10 people. We had to wait 2 hours just for cesar salad.

We came in for a late lunch on a recommendation and it lived up to expectations. Bálint was an attentive and helpful waiter and we had a fun and relaxing meal with a great view.

We went there as my partner had been years ago and said it was amazing - i guess a lot has changed since a few years ago. it appears that all portions are pre-packaged. I asked for a portion of fries with my main dish...and the waiter explained that the chef is unable to do this because they can only do fries with a burger. He said that all of their meals/portions are measured and if I have a portion of fries this means that they won't be able to sell a burger meal due to the lack of fries. When you're being asked to pay €52 for a steak but the chef can't make one portion of fries something is very wrong. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy so I was stumped as to why they couldn't accommodate my very simple request. I had the perch which was tasteless and my partner had the duck which was awful and tasted more of liver than duck and the furmint wine they offer was one of the worst we've tasted. All in all it was not a good experience but you do have a nice view of the river.More

Lovely floating restaurant on the Danube. Not a huge menu but something for everyone, Very clean and smart, nice touches in ladies loo etc. We all chose the chicken and risotto dish which was absolutely delicious. However, the service could have been better - one...of us waited 20 minutes for her drink, despite 2 reminders. They were not busy with two other tables of two people who came in after us. Food was great, location great and price very reasonable, just a let down on the service.More

I have been visiting Budapest for many years and have always looked forward to dinner at Spoon. We arrived and met at the gangway by the concierge, l asked for a table inside and was told it would not be possible even though l had a...reservation. They agreed to let us have blankets and were shown to a table on the open upper deck,to my surprise l saw that that the white linen table cloth and napkins had been replaced buy a circular black plastic mat and the cheapest white paper napkins available .The menu contained a similar selection to my previous visits and the prices the same as before. When the meals arrived all of us were disappointed with the standard of cookery and what you got for the price you are expected to pay, plus a 15% service charge.I understand that a business needs to keep up with the times but it would have been nice if their previous Standards had been maintained.l shall miss the place.More

We attempted to come here on our last night in Budapest. We booked and despite there being several tables by the edge overlooking the water - we were sat in the middle of the restaurant between several large tables. We were given our menus and...then ignored for 20 minutes. Despite trying to attract the attention of waiters - no one even so much came to take a drinks order. So we left and found a much more accommodating restaurant on the river bank - giving by us a similar view of the castle at night and with attentive wait staff.More

So disappointed, tonight was our wedding anniversary, and we were so looking forward to our night that we had booked on Spoon what a disappointment we were shown to our table, we were asked what we wanted for dinner and to drink and off they...went they came back after 5 mins with some butter then our starter and nothing else no drinks no bread for the butter nothing we finished our starter ..then asked for our drinks and eventually they came so did our main course with no cutlery!!! So we had to ask for that ! We gave up asked for the bill and that was that even had the cheek to add service charge for a terrible service all in all not impressed at all when I pointed out how bad service was the waiter said I'm working with idiots nothing more to say really...looking forward to wedding anniversary meal next year !!!More

Nice Location and good food, thanks to Peter for the serving, we really appreciated the worm welcome, peach shots at the end were too expensive.

It was not any more expensive than any higher quality restaurant. I think you will feel that it reflects good value for money.
