Rudas Bistro was born in 2017 from the dream of two old friends, Gergő and Gábor. Our goal was to create a friendly and intimate place that offers stunning views and reimagined Hungarian bistro cuisine. We are proud that every visit to Rudas Bistro is a gastronomic experience. Situated within the historic, nearly 500-year-old Rudas Baths, we aimed to establish a venue that honors the heritage and traditions of this renowned spa. Located at the foot of Gellért Hill, near the Buda end of the Elizabeth Bridge, Rudas Bistro welcomes guests with friendly staff and delicious food. The Rudas spa package that I took also included brunch. It was probably one of the most delicious meals I had while in Budapest. My three course offering consisted of delicious goulash soup with refreshing lemonade, a main of crispy chicken with Hungarian bulgar and a glass of rose wine. To finish the meal, I had tasty apple strudel with cappuccino. The view from the dining area is exquisite and great service and friendly staff!

You had an excellent choice! Our goulasch is meeting tradition and passionate of our cooks to introduce you the world famous Hungarian Goulasch taste, as we like it. And you are right, there is no word for beautiful panoramic view!

Took my boyfriend for his birthday dinner and we enjoyed a beautiful evening overlooking the Danube. While we were disappointed that they were out of rabbit in the kitchen as well as rum at the bar, everything else was absolutely perfect. The chef’s selection menu offered some fun delicacies which neither of us had tried before. Every dish that was put on our table was beautiful and our server was very attentive throughout. He even took our photo outside on the terrace :) We will definitely come back another time to bathe before a meal!

My friend and I wanted to try the restaurant because of the location and the view we didn’t expect the food would be really good. The chicken breast with Kuskus and Mango sauce was amazing 🤩😋 The view, and Nikki who was really professional and helpful ❤️. Definitely will come again.

Terrible terrible experience. Will not be recommending this to my worst enemy. Me and boyfriend paid for a package deal at £130 which “included” all day spa access, 3 course meal a lemonade each, a beer or wine each and a coffee each. Which we thought was really good , but after my experience I think not. We had a reservation at the bistro at 2pm, we walked out there at 6pm! The service was absolutely appalling, we was sat waiting to be served for a good half hour-40mins. We ordered all three courses together, the starters come out at a pretty reasonable time. However the main 1 hour 45 minutes later our mains come out, we also sat waiting for our starter plates to be taken for 45 mins, maybe if the waiters focused more on there customers than undoing each-others aprons and chatting the service may have been more smooth sailing. Once it was finally time to leave this place they offered our wine or beer that came in the deal, however as we do not drink we kindly asked if we could have a soft drink instead ie coke. Once we got up to leave they told us we Neeeded to pay for the cola!! I was appalled. Never again will I be back

Not recommended for people with food allergy or keeping diet. We have booked table for 10 people. Before visiting they confirmed the non-allergic possibility by phone. On the spot it turned out that they cannot prepare the food for me without allergic ingredients.

At printed menu, 14 type of allergic ingredients is shown and not all meal contains all type of possible allergic ingredients. Rude staff with no concept of customer care.

If I had the option to leave ZERO stars I would have chose this. My daughter and I visited Rudas spa/bistro after booking a VIP spa/dining experience via Get Your Guide. Unfortunately, a VIP experience could not have been further from what we experienced. Our table was booked for 6pm, with a full day use of the baths. Spending 3 days in Budapest, we tried to maximise our time there, so we went sightseeing in the morning and had lunch out. We arrived at the spa at around 3.30. We followed guidance on the app to collect the ticket to the baths. We approached one of the bar staff and explained we'd come to collect out tickets. He pointed to the stairs and barked DOWNSTAIRS. thinking we'd missed a reception area on the ground floor, we went back down. We hadn't. We went back up to the bistro and explained again that we had a table booked and had come to collect tickets for the spa. Another member of staff informed us that the bistro was closed for a private function, so we basically had the option to have our 3 course meal within half an hour and be out by 4pm (we'd had lunch shortly before). or return the next day (we already had plans.the next day). All members of staff we rude, unfriendly and abrupt. At no point was any offer of an apology made. They pretty much told us that it's not their problem. Eye rolling, huffing, raising their voices at us. We did go in the spa but missed out on the dining experience. The spas themselves were OK. We also went to another with more outdoor baths and imo if you have a choice of just one I'd avoid Rudas and head to the one not far from Hero's square (sorry can't remember the name) but it was a much more pleasant experience. The outdoor rooftop bath at Rudas did have good views but was not large enough to accommodate the number of people crammed into it.

Reservation for 1800 hours for August 20, 2021 Was accepted 7 days in advance. The Rudas Bistro was not open. Had planned to spend whole day at spa. Cell phone and email address given when booking made. No contact from them. Very hungry.

Dear Visitor, Unfortunatelly, on Aug 20. there is a National Holiday in Hungary and but system accepted your booking accidentaly. Due to this Bistro and Bath were closed. We are really sorry for inconviniance caused.

We visited the bistro looking forward to a light bite to eat and a drink. We walked in to see 4 staff members milling about but no one approached us , leaving us to ask if we could take a seat. We did and the menus were brought out. After 22 minutes of waiting we asked if someone was going to take our order. The waitress appeared oblivious to our presence and said she would be with us in a minute. About 5 minutes later we left still having not been seen. On exiting the bistro there were still a number of staff milling about aimlessly. I know why they call this place Rudas because the staff are as rude as xxxx

The food was delicious and the service was excellent expesially Béla the waiter he was really kind. Also the view is wonderful. I recommend to spend some time in Rudas Bath and then eat your dinner or lunch at the Rudas Bistro. :)

Amazing, friendly and so attentive, would do anything to make your experience pleasurable. Food was excellent! Overall very happy 😊 We really enjoyed the venue and spa also. The only thing was the panorama pool was closed for the week.

Avoid at all costs! The worst service I have ever experienced. Waiting 40 minutes for two cokes. The starter took 1 hour 15 minutes to arrive. The meal was part of an online deal. Rudest baths was fantastic. The Bistro is awful and the staff are rude.

Lack of customer service. Not attentive at all . We were a family of 5 . The terrace was fullish so we sat inside and though our order was taken we had to go to them to get a wine list and to chase up part of our order. At no point did anyone come over to see if we needed anything. I would say the food is nice but our white wine was warm . Nice setting shame they don’t make a good impression with the service.

Needed a quick lunch after the fabulous Rudas Spa that was right next door. Wonderful Wild Boar Stew entree and Hummus plate app with a refreshing Staropramen Pilsner. I only had a short time and they pleasantly took care of me.

How to ruin your afternoon.

Service is horrible. Waiter starts leaving before we finish our order. Workers were rude and the lack of attention was horrible to face. Unfortunately was a big disappointment since I used to like this place.

Dear Fernanda, Thank you for your feedback. We have felt, during August, that due to overcwoded days, out level of service was not the same as we are expecting. So we have done steps, changed personel that was needed. So if you come again, and try out our winter menu, I think you will experience same good feelings as before. :-) Hope to see you soon again!

1. Great viewpoint, 2. delicious food, 3. wonderful atmosphere and mostly importantly 4. friendly and helpful service. We walked up Gellert Hill in the afternoon then coming down to Rudas Bistro to have dinner. This restaurant is great for the relaxing vibe and perfect viewpoint to Danube. The servers are all friendly. Our server Geri was very nice and friendly always smiling. It was our first evening in Budapest and it was really nice to see such friendliness in the city that really presents a good character of this city. We are glad to dine in here for the first dinner and a good start in Budapest!
