We went to Brasserie Henri because it was located literally right next to our hotel. It happened to be a cold day so we ate inside, which was in a cellar. We didn't really know what to expect. We were amazed by the high quality of the food. It was one of the best meals we have ever had, and... More

visited this after the folk dance show nearby. very accommodating despite late hour and near full restaurant. we had ordered salmon fillet, crispy pork knuckle and lamb shoulder - all excellent and decent portions. with a desert, 2 soft drinks, 2 large beers, it all came to less than 60 euros. great value.

Had dinner there. Outdoor terrace offering great view of the Parliament, however just by the parked cars. Had an excellent beetroot risotto, very creamy and nice, minus the mussels which didn't seem to be the freshest. Great selection of Belgian beer. Finished with a fabulous raspberry soufflé. Good service, excellent value for money.

They have extreme numbers of Belgian beers, bottled and druaght as well. Nice view to the Parlament. The terrace is in shadow so you can relax and enjoy the view. Be aware of the strenght of that beers :)

We ate here last night following one of the worst meals That we have ever experienced the previous night. This bar has restored our faith in the good food of Budapest. The bar was very busy, we were lucky to get a table, and throughout our meal as tables emptied, they re filled. Although as it got later, there were... More

This place stays open late so it is good for after theater. The mussels are fresh and arrive daily. Try a kilo of mussels in beer, milk and leeks. The assortment of Belgian beer is excellent. The Belgian fries however are of the frozen kind. They are thick, not thin cut. See my photos.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
